Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release)
-
Tradition must be kept

Just waiting for āfixed battery drainā in the next one
-
Isnāt a full cycle of discharge/charge needed to have proper battery calibration ?
-
@Tieutieu yep still recommended from what Iāve read in this thread, I however already have a battery consumption that match specification (5-6% day, 1% during sleep and 1-2%/h of during gps activity with AOD and performance mode) without doing the full cycle, letās hope affected user will go back to normal after such cycle
If it is linked to BT sensors maybe ensuring that the BT sensors are off could help with battery drain (if still happen) -
@inkognito Yup: reproduced on SV1 with Concentric Analog.
-
@false I ll try to make sure that even if there is no drain the line is added
-
Sadly first night, no sleep summary. Today wake up and my Race 2 registered my sleep as a nap⦠so still I was not able to see new one. I hope today I will finally see it.
-
On my side, the battery issue seems to be resolved: I have used 6% in 25 hours.
-
@Francesco-Pagano itās really sad that we are coming to that point where we suunto users have to monitor if thereās battery drain or not. This issue has been there a long time and has potential to evolve to a problem for the reputation of suunto
-
@false
what was wrong before ?
what is ur hope ? -

My hope is that Suunto will finally (for real!) fix this issue thatās already become a meme. Just look at the number of battery drain complaints after every update - despite the release notes saying āfixed battery drainā.
And the funny thing is, the problem shows up even for users who had no issues before those update -
I feel your pain guys. But I have to report that the watch works just fine after the update. Battery seems ok and I like the new morning report. Well done Suunto!
-
@Stefan-Kersting Iāve been āofflineā for some time. Was this a Vertical only issue or were there battery drain problems with all devices?
-
@ChrisA I donāt really know but I have a vertical 1 og there are many users with the battery šŖ« issue
-
@VoiGAS Yes and please too for Autostop and Autolap
every update they are back to default. -
@ChrisA for me the battery drain issue is for a Vertical 2ā¦
-
Update has been successfully installed on the Vertical 1. I think even without loss of a personalized sport mode. Sleep report when waking up in the new design. If I open it again, it will be in the old one. Had no battery problems before and not now. Just 2 hours on the bike with 1.3% per hour consumption with best gps.

Iām currently get phantom vibration on my race 2, only suunto belt paired (fresh post update)
Watch vibrate without nothing displayed at all post activity
If I open the activity pre start page I see the belt already connected
I will soft reset and it will disappear but bug still here
The disconnect issue I suffer last time was gone after doing unpair/pair of the belt
I assume that battery drain can be caused by such behavior if the watch continue to look for BT devices after an exercice it is quite energy consuming -
Thx for the Info

@ChrisA Yes, it is the Race I. The last update prior this one mess up the life battery. What I think is that the connection to multiple heart rate devices just have something to do with it. I expected that this update solved the issue but now it is even worst. Before these two updates I had to charge my device after 5 to 6 days depenging on my weekly training but now it is not even two days. I do not even have the notifications on. I came back to Suunto after the horrible experience with the Spartan series and I do not think I will repeat again with this brand.
