@Josaiplu relying to myself on this, today I did exact same run with same setup and no phantom vibration
I kept the belt with the sensor on and not able to reproduce the issue of yesterday, intermittent issues are the worst to troubleshoot

Ah, nice to hear some experiencing battery drain solved, I hope with my S9PP too! But that also means, I may donāt have to buy a new one like the Race 2ā¦

@aiv4r Not sure what training ecosystem is for you then, since recovery is the most important metric of any fitness building program. Otherwise I could just track my workouts in a spreadsheet.
BTW ZoneSense telling me my AeT being 160 bpm is ā although flattering ā not a meaningful addition to my program either.
So at this point, if I cannot trust a single figure on this watch, what is it good for then? Telling time and firing off alarms?.. Funny thing is, recently thereās been a bug where even the latter wasnāt working.

@cheetah694 I train a lot, and I never look at recovery.
What gives me the best training/recovery indications is training loadā¦tss/ctlā¦values. Thatās way more usable to me. -

Suunto metrics a, for me, the most reliable one and the one that match the most my perception (once zone and threshold are properly configured)
I maintain a sync over coros, garmin and suunto over 30 days and garmin was way off forcing me to do HIIt training, coros was not bad at tracking my progress and suunto was spot on
Body battery and other metrics are good if you donāt know yourself (and by good I mean that they could help you)
The purpose of alll these metric is to put numbers on feelingto allow you to know yourself, once this is achieved you donāt look a lot to your watch you just monitor training load and perception of effort -
Personally, with my 2 Suunto, Iām 2 updates behind waiting for the battery problem to be solved⦠when it is solved then I will update

Are you for real mate. Battery life and GPS accuracy are the entire reason I have had suunto watches a long time. I still have an old ambit 3 peak in the cupboard that I bring out that has a more stable battery than my vertical currently does. Sure not everyone cares about battery life people that are just using their watch to go to gym or whatever. Some of us like to do adventures. Not only is the battery life now dismal on my and many others vertical it is also inconsistent and not trust worthy. Sometimes it drains at 1% every 2 hours sometimes itās draining 40% in 24 hours. I cannot trust that in the rainforest relying on it for navigation.
One other issue with this battery problem is lithium batteries are only good for so many charge cycles so just like your Apple Watch starts off good and the battery quickly degenerates from frequent charging. Well now instead of my vertical only needing charging once every 3-4 weeks like it did when I bought it and the battery performed as advertised. Now it lasts a few days which means not only more frequent charging but now Iām killing the ultimate life of my battery faster by more frequent charging. This watch performed perfectly when released and every (update) has killed it further and further to the point my old ambit 3 peak has a better battery life.

I have a SV1. I installed the update while charging the watch to 100%. It is now at 88%. Thatās roughly 4% a day. I wear the watch 24/7, sleep and 24h HR tracking. Iāve done several activities this week (± 6h) however they were all indoor.
I would say Iām not experiencing the battery draining issue, I think! Also, I donāt have the ghost connections issue and didnāt lose the custom HR zones or profiles.I understand this battery issue, or any issue, in particular if it is hardware (cannot be fixed by a software update), is frustrating for anyone affected.
However, it is very clear that this issue doesnāt affect ALL the users. Thus, we need to try to isolate and identify the conditions that trigger the issue. Itās very difficult for Suunto, or any software development company, to cover and test ALL the possible combinations in which their watches are being used in the real world.
Someone mentioned the issue might be related to the BT connection(s). Maybe this is related to the ghost connections.
Maybe we can try to help by providing some info related to our setup (e.g., how many BT accessories are connected, which ones (brand+type), phone OS/version, notifications enabled, etc). The more information available, the best.

@gone-troppo Wow mate, your Vertical sounds like itās living a harder life than I am.
Mine only has to survive flat park runs and a trip to the supermarket⦠yours is out there fighting for its life in the rainforest like itās auditioning for Survivor.
get why battery life is a big deal for you - if my watch dropped 40% in 24 hours in the jungle, Iād start praying to the GPS gods too.
But honestly, with todayās tech and lithium batteries, this kind of behaviour is pretty normal. After about a week, the battery usually slows down its drain and becomes more stable again. Trust me on this one.
Meanwhile, Iām just hoping my watch doesnāt die before I finish my 10K.

Iām sorry but battery life is the key reason I bought my new Vertical 2 and it doesnāt meet the specs (by far) and this is a very bad indication about the future. I have a 5 year old Coros Apex Pro that Iām replacing because I went down from charging every 18 days to charging every 5 days (with a weekly 12-14 hours of GPS). After the latest update to 2.48.6 battery draining remains at some 10% per day and about 2% per hour with GPS. That barely lasted a week. Yesterday I reached 12% so I finally charged to 100% and for good measure did a soft reset too. From 10pm to 5:30am during sleep mode with HRV and without spo2 battery dropped to 96%. Thatās worse than before the charge cycle. Iāll continue to monitor with the same settings for the day (AOD, HR 247, notifications on, discovery off, no BT devices connected except the phone app on Android Pixel). I know that sometimes off the charger the first few percent can drop quickly but this isnāt a promising beginning.

My R2 battery drains 8-10% per day. I use GPS for 40 minutes per day and sleep with it. After 4 days, the battery is at 65%.

@SODIUM i loos 10% a day included 1h gps RUN and Night sleep tracking inkl HRV THIS IS OK i think

@cheetah694 i fully agree with you - recovery is super important in general training. I was saying that 1 number will never tell you how your recovery is going. Yes Suunto will try to calculate a guestimate number based on training intensity and lenght, but it is just a guestimate. Donāt get me wrong, I would like that Suunto would fix a bug where it gives 2000+ h of recovery, but that number should not impact your training a bit.

I wish this could be turned off. Or at least if this pops and you press ānoā⦠it would resume the pause time (it wount come back anymoreā¦)

@Gideon-Kaempfer I can now say with confidence that even after a power cycle and detailed tracking of my remaining battery over the past 36 hours since the recharge, my Vertical 2 running 2.48.16 continues to drain battery just like before the update: Roughly 1% every two hours without activities and about 2% every hour with GPS. This is with AOD on, 247 HRM, sleep tracking without spo2, brightness low and even with raise to wake set to display only.
Thatās about 10 days without activities vs what is advertised as 20 days. I expect Suunto to fix this but Iām very skeptical after reading the disappointment others with more experience with Suunto have expressed. -
I got phantom a phantom sensor (which is a Polar Verity Sense I believe) with this update. I can not delete it. When it is selected the menu jumps back to the sensor list. I was able to add the Verity Sense again and the watch uses it. Is there any solution to this or just wait for the next update?
