      @NickK Is nice to have if implemented, but personally is more important to have asymetric intervals or even autolaps add-on for SuuntoPlus.

        Maybe someone wants adaptive training plans and baro, which is not included in S5. Maybe someone finds S9 more attractive than S5 plus wants all the features. Features sell stuff, look at mobile industry so many functions (core, ram, pixels, lens number) advertised in mobiles and in the end we use 5% of capabilities. Final call is up to management decision, but I believe extra features would make S9 more interesting to more people.

          One more thing maybe I missed it, but when I open suunto’s website and search for suunto 9 I see key features battery life, so many sport profiles, built tough etc etc but not a single word about vo2max, sleep quality, body battery. New features are mentioned in update sections. Maybe they are all gimmicks and not important for hard core athletes but some customer care about them. Let them know, show them.

          Adding additional features to S9 would be also a great message to current customers - we care about you.

            @dulko79 For price S5 is a valuable sport watch (take a look). For 250€ you get:

            1. A beauty watch, assembled in Finland;
            2. A durable bat with sony chipset and antenna like ambit3;
            3. Recovery features;
            4. Adaptive training;
            5. Navigation;
            6. Nofifications;
            7. All stuff of S9, except baro and touch screen;
            8. New SuuntoPlus add-on goodies.

                @Luís-Pinto Indeed, S5 is a remarkable watch. My idea was if functions can be ported to other products in terms of feasibility and costs. Just do it, attract a larger crowd.

                  I like the S5 as well, much smaller than the S9 and all features save one, the barometer. If the S5 had it I would use the S5 much more. The GPS tracks are great!

                    @NickK Why give us Fitness Age then, if they are trying to be discerning with FirstBeat licensing? For the Suunto9 user base - the Training Effect: Aerobic and Anaerobic would have been way more interesting!

                      @Jonathan-Schwarz fitness age is basically a lookup table on real age and VO2Max, so maybe it’s free if you license VO2Max 🙂

                        @Jonathan-Schwarz Well, let’s see… Where’s my crystal ball?

                        I’m pretty sure licensing and development costs are the reason. It’s not like Firstbeat is a buffet with a prix fixe menu. You pick whatever you’d like from the options, pay a fixed price, and – voila – features magically appear on your watch. Suunto might have to pay different amounts for various features. The features could have had other dependencies (like Body Resources depends on all day stress). Most importantly, all these features must be integrated with Suunto proprietary operating system and apps. And tested.

                        Adding already existing stuff was easy, because it was already integrated and tested with Suunto 5, and Suunto 3 prior to that.

                          @NickK I see. That reasoning makes sense! Thanks @NickK

                                  Adaptive training is very neat feature. This is one I would wish to be brought into Suunto 9

                                    I try « boost » adaptative training on S5 but my level of training is to high for the algorithm.
                                    I’m not a great athlete but my VO2 max is between 52-50.

                                      The adaptive training feature is not useful for those that exercise regularly and as I said before, not a feature I would want on the S9 or its successor. I’ve tried it on the 5 and the 3 and I agree with @Mi_chael.

                                        Something simpler:
                                        I want to plan my training
                                        (similar to Movescount)

                                        “Final Surge” has a simple planner, with library, weekly count, and more.
                                        Simple but very correct.

                                          And it can be “imported” to s9b and having the watch telling you what to do/zones/times/distances/etc?
