      NOTICE:

Use a file explorer that recognizes apps to open with. Some natives dont offer for any.

I use Gaia GPX , SA and only some file explorers such as solid file explorer, ES explorer, Fies go do work

@surfboomerang said in GPX Import into SA - How To Guide:

Yes, got the Drive app installed.
It seems that it opens the gpx file in an internal viewer/editor in the Drive App. If I choose Open With, it opens a HTML viewer instead of the Suunto app.

The e-mail trick doesn’t work unfortunately. Same issue as when I download the file and try to open it

Try with instructions from my last post.

It could be an issue with gpx file association.
Do you have any other “navigation” app (not waze or gmap) installed ?

So some file explores and the native ones do not recognize apps to open with .gpx files.
We are adding a button to help and over come that

@sartoric use solid explorer. Download the file and then use that app for example.

BTW that is the only reason why we did not expose this yet. As some file browsers do not offer

                    I tried solid explorer.
I got a list of all my app on my phone to open the file with, except… the Suunto App 🙂

I will try to reinstall the app and see if that fixes something.

Unfortunately after a reinstall of the app, still the same issue. I think I’ll just wait until the next update

                              🙂

When I see a good activity in Strava (usually for bike) I:

                              1. add /export_gpx to Strava url
                              2. Download GPX
                              3. Open with Solid Explorer
                              4. Import route in SA

The only problem I’m facing is the never-ending save process on this “imported” routes that can result in several duplicates (when you try to save again)

edit : It seems that in fact the “save” works, but the spinning wheel keeps spinning 😄 and the “issue” is global and not only related to “imported” routes

I can confirm it works fine. And the greatest thing is that when you have both iOS and Android phone, you can import the route on Android and then sync it via App on iOS as the route appears in both Apps (so no need to pair your watch with different app). I suppose the import feature will be soon available on iOS as well but it is nice to have 🙂
