@andré-faria Personally I prefer a stable watch with less features then a buggy one with tons of features.
The first one I can trust what I have and what I can expect. The other one… well, I think I would go to a casino if I want a gamble.

Yes, but maybe someone prefers the other way around. Depends on what features are not working well/stable and which ones you need.
For someone that bought a 9 peak because of asthetics, weight and a bit to be a “fitness tracker” and do some sports, maybe it annoys them to have the resources bug, and to not have customization of watchfaces.
For someone that is an avid hiker, maybe it annoys that garmin have/had some altitude bugs…

@andré-faria True, as long as those features and bugs don’t interfere with each other. For example I don’t want a huge battery drain or crashes because some feature I don’t use are bugging in the background and thus are interfering with the features I do use.

Ambit 3 can be paired to Suunto App … but as you’ve already decided … farewell

I tried, many times, no success.
Suunto is leaving me with a Ambit3 Peak with less functionality.
I can’t upload routes and download tracks.
At least Garmin allow me to simply connect it as usb device mounted as a disk, so I can do it.
The Suunto App is a nightmare, it lost connection each time.
And I don’t want to use a “smartphone”.

@philippe-makowski This is not true with the release of Suuntolink 4. Could you respond in the other post and actually try to use the new release before making the statements. I have an Ambit3 Peak and it is working just fine with the new Suuntolink.

and to create an account, either you may find a smartphone, install the app, create and uninstall, or you could try to create one in https://www.sports-tracker.com/ (which is not SuuntoApp web management, but it could do the trick (i guess, never tried)).
Just workarounds ideas, not perfect solutions though, but…

                    @mff73 Interesting.

S4-created modes? Imported from MC? Copied from watch?

don’t know if it is cloud settings saved from MC or read directly from watch 😞

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos but it is still there in watches menu for my Ambit. Is it safe if I remove the watch from SuuntoLink and re-add it without Movescount account?

BTW, great update. Thank you Suunto devs.

I imagine that sportsmode are read by SL from watch, then SL UI let us manipulate, and send back to watch ? No suunto cloud savings ?

I don’t own any Ambit/Traverse but I’m completely surprised about SuuntoLink 4 changes to support them into new SA ecosystem (just checked Joaquin’s video). Probably there will be some bugs, and a new SA account needs to be done, but Suunto is providing a solution for these old watches instead of just looking forward and adding new features to new S9P and SA mobile.

At my eyes, it’s clear that Suunto is listening users (Ambit/traverse) and taking care of them, and not just trying to sell new watches. It’s good for users with old watches, it’s good for the planet, well done!!!

@philippe-makowski You need to use Suunto App for creating routes, you can probably do this with SportsTracker as well, which has a web interface.

and to toggle to use it on the watch no?
If making routing on big screen is the concern you can use a 3rd party like komoot and enable the sync to SA.
Also you can have some old phone/tablet with SA just to make the bridge.

@brad_olwin I don’t want the Suunto App, neither SportTracker, no smartphone, I just want to get a track, put a route, without any smartphone. I didn’t bought a watch that need a smartphone. You are obsoleting my watch. I like the Ambit 3 Peak.
why don’t just let us us the watch like a USB Drive ?
or allow us to put route and get tracks with Suunto link ?
