Finding moves in my area
-
It’s actually very cool feature.
I highly suggest to add a new feature like suunto-tinder you can switch lift or right on an activity to make a new friend?
-
Are there any plans for doing some kind of search for this feature as there is in movescount? Right now it seems to be very hard to find anything useful. E.g i’m interested in finding new longdistand mtb paths to follow but from the map I seem to only find like 2km distant walks and that kind of things.
-
@Vylli yes there are plans for that but not the very next thing to come
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Good news! I’ll keep on waiting. Nice to see things improving. The only thing I’m still hoping for is strava live segments. Any news on that?
-
@Vylli nope no news on that. However because I use them sometimes (when I am bored) what I do is use a chrome extension that can pull the GPX from a segment and I add that as a route to my watch.
I get the notification when approaching and when I am about to finish.Of course, that is not a live segment , by far it aint, but just saying perhaps something that could help.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Thanks for the hint! I will try that.

Guess who’s back, back again …
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Its been down some weeks again now.Why and for how long? Im so tired of this shit app.
-
@Paddeltrader we are improving this feature according to some suggestions here so it might be on and off I am sorry

Cool to hear that (feature improvement + forum is heard )
As we see that some notifications are possible in SA, may it be possible to have for example a notification that states :
“Hey, we are working on that feature… it may disapear for xxx reasons, and nothing is bad on your side, it will be back soon”
or something more understandable -
Just hard to understand why Suunto released this unfinished cheap app. Its doesnt feel right. The watches arent cheap and we’re Suuntos custumers
-
“Finding moves in my area” is gone again since a couple months. Not a big surprise they just shut down function randomly without communication. They dont care much about their customers so no chance I buy a Suunto watch again.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Any update on this? As I’m travelling from time to time to new places, it was (and on MC still is!) a great feature to find a route for a run or similiar.
-
@MaxiPalle I quess they dont know why this function disappeares all the time. Its a bug they cant handle.
-
hi this is not a bug we cannot handle. There is work done on this and its off intentionally
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Sorry, i don’t understand. Will this functionality return or is it totally gone?
-
@MaxiPalle this will return. Its shut off currently.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I was always a little ambivalent about this feature, to be honest. On the one hand it could be incredibly convenient to just highlight a route someone else ran, upload it to your watch, and go.
On the other hand, yikes. It’s the sort of thing that you could easily imagine a stalker loving. When this feature is brought back, how does Sports Tracker/Suunto plan to implement it?
It seems to me that the ideal way to do it would be to not have those runs directly connected to specific people, like show it on the map as, “here’s a route someone did recently,” rather than, “here’s a route this person did at this exact date and time.” -
@ianshowalter its a public activity. You can set the privacy to non public and that activity wont be listed. I am not sure why this can be an issue.
