Let’s hope for the best, but I’m afraid people are expecting too much from this October announcement. We went through this waiting time and disappointment game few times already. And why the hell are announcements announced?! It looks like they are just buying time until more and more users get fed up and move to newer watches so there will be less backlash when they cripple ambits more or less.

yes, in the end it is business and like in other industries, if the customers will not upgrade, they must be forced to upgrade somehow.my opinion was and still is: suunto can not still sell a product and shut down its background support tomorrow.
I took the step into future with my new s9b (for different reasons…) but I will be happy to have the option to use my a3p, too for several adventures in the future. -
@Prenj I agree, they are just buying time. I think when they finally come with a solution for older watches the older watches will be Spartans and S9…Ambits will be long forgotten.

After a good research a bought A3P which was manufactured in 2019. From what i have found, support for Ambit series will not be shut down, and Movescount will be put to sleep only after a solid transition to Suunto app has been made.
Also in voting section on this forum, option with most votes is Suunto web (like Movescount web), which in my opinion has to exist if they want to keep operational value of Suunto products, and loyalty of customers. Phone app simply isn’t enough.Vertical Solar Titanium

I use route navigation during mountain biking so that I can see if I’m off trail – I ride in an area that has lots of trail options and not having to pull out my phone and use All Trails, Gaia, etc. just to confirm I’m on the right track is really nice.
I was having some issues with the route planner app so called Suunto support – they told me that they are actually going to support Routes WITH the Ambit 3 on the new software. It’s kind of working today the support guy told me – you can load them in but you can’t see the line on the watch yet which they are fixing.
So maybe they are listening. Not sure about sport or workout customizations that others are missing also."

Please explainJust wanted to check if there have been any changes in process, highest HW I was aware of was E.4.D.6 and it’s from 2016. It doesn’t mean there have been actual design or component updates, it’s a common practice to update P/N after every significant change in production (some process improvement for cost saving, changes in production line, changes of component suppliers, end of life for some component and switching to alternative etc etc)
Basically it just means that they (likely) didn’t fill their stock with Ambit3 PCBs three or so years ago and the manufacturing process was/is still live and under review between 2016 & 2019.
