@pilleus but it’s only syncing data from recorded activities, correct? So if you went for a walk with your watch on, but did not officially track the activity with the suunto app. You may get 500 steps but those steps would not sync with Google fit.

Last night I tried the sleep tracking of the Suunto 7.
My experiences:- Battery usage for 8,5 hours: 35 % (airplane mode, display off, no tilt to wake)
- Detection of sleepwalking is perfect, the watch gave me a popup with the question: Are you awake or do you sleep?. After recognizing that there were steps recorded.
- Sync to Google Fit happened within 5 minutes.
- Only few data are shown in Google Fit. No sleep phases, no heart rate, no qualitiy of the sleep. Screenshot attached and to have a comparison another one of the sleep tracking of another WearOS watch and another day.
I know, that sleep tracking on all watches out there is just an option to have fun. So no problem, just my experiences.
Your S7 used 35% battery in tracking 8h30m sleep?? That really doesn’t right to me, as mine is using roughly 9% to track 7h30m sleep.
I have aeroplane mode off but I do put it into Cinema mode.And have you gone back yet to look at the sleep data? Mine syncs the initial data across very quickly, but the full detail of sleep phases and graph takes a while to appear (maybe this is because this graph is not shown in Suunto App, so Google Fit has to generate it itself, thus it takes a little bit of time to do so?)
My sleep tracking with the S7 was absolutely spot on and was in fact better than my Withings Sleep Analyser on this occasion. The fell asleep time was 4m apart and what I would expect to see. The wake up time was accurate on the S7 (because of the notification asking if I am awake I guess?) but because I didn’t get immediately, the Withings was about 20 minutes late.

@olymay - concur - sleep graph data in GFit is due to google server delays. Just checked mine now and while not there this morning, it is there now.

No, I have the 500 steps from the walk and a synced activity “walk” (not recorded by Suunto Wear app, but autodetected as activity walk on the Suunto 7) in Google Fit afterwards.
Activity “Laufen am Morgen” and “Gehen am Nachmittag” in the attached screenshot are such not recorded activities in my garden to test it. I had the Suunto 7 on my wrist, the smartphone on my sideboard in the living room.
Activity “Aktivität Freitag” was a shopping walk to the super market where I used the Casio GBX-100 for steps and distance (Casio syncs to Google Fit all data, steps, distance, activities, heart rate 24/7). Suunto 7 and smartphone were at home in the meantime.

After resetting the watch to factory settings several times due to the missing background on Solstice watch face I can confirm, that the sync of steps and non-recorded activites (walk to the bakery or workout on the crosstrainer with steps, distance, duration, speed) from the Suunto 7 to Google Fit is working without problems.
With Suunto Wear app recorded activities are synced with full data (duration, heart rate, calories, distance, speed) to Google Fit.
The connection in Suunto Wear app to Google Fit must be enabled and Google Fit must be activated. Suunto confirms this sync on the screen where the sync must be activated with the words, that Google Fit must be enabled. That means that Google Fit must not be configured, I didn’t touch it after resetting the watch. Additionally I deactivated all permissions of Google Fit in the system settings of the Suunto 7 (settings - apps - app info - system - Fit) to be sure, the data come from the Suunto 7.
If I deactivate Google Fit via adb (pm disable-user -k …) the sync will stop and no data are transferred from Suunto 7 to Google Fit.

@pilleus interesting, while I regularly go running around the blockwithout tracking this actively I have never seen any extra activities in Google Fit on my iPhone…
I do have HR and activity tracking switches on in Google fit on the watch. -

I do have HR and activity tracking switches on in Google fit on the watch.I am on Android, may be this is the difference. And on my Suunto 7 Google Fit is not configured. The activities are shown in Google Fit on the smartphone.

A short walk into the city. Phone at home. Suunto 7 with me, but no recording of an activity with the Suunto wear app.
Walk is synced to Google Fit with correct steps, calculated distance and other information.

in iOS Google Fit has a very similar appearance. I also get the active minutes in the overview, just no extra workout in the training overview…

I just did a short workout on the crosstrainer without starting an activity in the Suunto Wear app.
The 20 minutes were recognised as “walk” in Google Fit on the smartphone and the title and activity type can be edited.
And distance and steps are equal to the earlier workouts recorded with the Suunto 7 or Spartan Ultra.
