Thank you very much everyone for the valuable advice. We hope that Google Fit gives Suunto app permissions to delete activities as it often happens that you start activities in the Suunto app for a few seconds and then delete it later will be displayed forever on the Google fit app. what doesn’t make sense for good integration the two apps should sync data

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos - maybe if paused the GPS fix setting could change to a quick check every 1/2 mins and if no fix after 10s stops trying - that would significantly improve battery life, especially from it continously trying to fix. And or maybe if app paused and in background - no GPS. If running and in background GPS remains active? Not sure how feasible any of these options are - but would think they are worth a consideration, especially considering the target market.

@marsfarce the random reboots are reported, I think I’ve read it here… So the next update would include a fix for that. But I’m not part of Suunto so I can say with 100% of certain when or if it will fix it.

@herlas - suppose from a hardware and software perspective they can do more. saying that my phone notifies me via vibration and notification tone for all notifications unless I turn them off, put DND, and or switch to a vibrate/silent notification. Your watch is effectively the same - you don’t want it to notify for an apps notification - turn it off for that app. You don’t want to receive any vibration (notification sound if you have a speaker which the S7 doesn’t) then put DND on (note you can also adjust DND like you can for your phone). You can also go into the apps notifications settings (on the watch) and adjust those if they have any built in - go and take a look at the options for google play store on watch (loads of different notification options - can tweak which notifications you receive) however some like messages - its on or off. So really bit like your phone - really depends what the dev has built into their app as to how your can adjust. You could try changing your notification previews to off - not sure if that changes whether it vibrates or not.

The mad thing here is that you can not disable the tilt-to-wake funtion on battery saver mode. So if you change to that mode at night, you will not sleep if you move a lot in the bed.

Thanks for the help! I guess they’re a part of wear os. They don’t take that much room so no point in removing them, I was just wondering what they were.

@aeroild said in Apps for simulating structured workouts: It’s been almost a year since I used Exercise Timer, so things might have changed, but it worked fine for me. The only issue I remember is that the vibration was hard to notice sometimes. A work around could be to let the timer run in the foreground and Suunto in the background. I.e. if you don’t need to check HR data etc. Interesting. I’m having no luck. Only seems to be a problem while doing an activity with Suunto app in the foreground . They introduced the lowe power always on display during activity with the september update. Maybe that’s somehow causing issues for apps running in the background.

@brad_olwin 3rd party apps would have the same problem unless they export in the exact format that Suunto app is expecting - i.e. most likely won’t work and I don’t want to install 50 apps trying to figure out which one does work (plus the battery drain would probably be significantly more). Garmin exports to gpx with I can see power in both Strava and the Garmin app and Quantified Self but to get the file into Suunto I have to convert to a .fit file (QS requires to upload to SA) and it gets screwed up. I can export out of Strava as a .fit file however no power. I am guessing golden cheetah would work but that is a lot of effort for something that should be relativity simple. Now if Suunto would just add sensor support that would solve everything - wouldn’t it?

Issue seems resolved after deleting Spotify from my Note 20, then removing the sync to the watch, reinstalling Spotify on the phone and syncing back to the Suunto 7. Beginning to love the watch now.

I would love to see a tile for the Altimeter and Barometer much like the S9 Baro has, same graphics, same style available for the S7

@Balder2012 No premium, have music only so quit paying Spotify/YT Was listening to Spotify podcast and after podcast I switched to YT Music mid run, tried to play albums I downloaded previously that day, but it showed some my mix my workout etc that I never put there and no sign of my downloaded music, Had to clear cache, clear downloads and force stop start again and now it is working again because I can see them right on the menu. I still can’t download my playlists only albums says cannot download offline but I have plenty free space and app permission for storage is on.

@g-q NP - its not something that most pay attention to, and reason why it comes up on pretty much on every manufacturers forums.

@aeroild I installed Barotrend and it seems to be stuck on absolute pressure! When you press the option to adjust Sea level it goes black and nothing happens? I think it’s about time Suunto push an update to S7 with a new tile for Baro/Altimeter. The watch has Barometer ready crying for a tile and a watch face I think we need to make some noise about this feature. S9 has it why not S7?! Cheers

@northeast_trekker Good, the altimeters on both my S7s have been quite good. However, most of my climbs are larger (mountains) and not rolling hills. That is where I live and where my experience base is.

@flypg I have had similar issues occasionally. It was more when I tried ski touring and the altitude was off by a few hundred meters at times. When I download the route / gpx file and upload the gpx file into the app, it has the elevation correct. My question is, why doesn’t the FusedAlti solve this in real time?
