Suunto 9 Baro - Elevation profile issue
-
 @cédric-dodrimont
 just to be sure: did you manually adjust altitude before your activity?
-
 @cédric-dodrimont yours is a Suunto9 non-baro model? The altitude will depend on GPS so try the best satellite system. However, you will not get the accuracy of a model with a barometer.
-
 @brad_olwin He’s got an S9 Baro. According to the temperature graph

-
 @sartoric Does the S9 non-baro has a temperature sensor?
-
 @pavlas
 Well, that’s a good question

 OP says 9 Baro in the title

 @isazi said in Suunto 9 Baro - Elevation profile issue: OP says 9 Baro in the title Hidden in plain sight So the 9 has no temp sensor ? I didn’t expect it
-
 @sartoric yeah, temp sensor is technically needed to compensate temperature drift of the baro sensor. So it is kind of integrated into the baro sensor.
-
 @freeheeler For this one maybe I adjusted the altitude manually. I will try to do a new activity end of the day without adjusting it. It’s a baro watch, when I look at my activities, it seems issues started the 4th of January. Before this date everything was fine.
-
 @sartoric it’s proximity to the skin makes sensor useless for any other purpose.
-
 @dmytro Except when swimming

 @cédric-dodrimont true dat

 I have a Suunto 9 Baro since 3 years and the 9 Baro Titanium since half a year. I have also problems with the altitude profile with both of my watches! The older was in the suunto service center a year ago and they did only a firware update! But the problem still exists (the watch recorded over 2000 meter evelvation change in 50 minutes cycling but it was only 300 meter!) But the problem still exists (the watch recorded over 2000 meter evelvation change in 50 minutes cycling but it was only 300 meter!)
 Thats why I bougth the Titanium and I have the same problem! Three years ago, the atlitude was really preceise. Now you can no longer rely on it! And that’s especially crappy when you make a 360km ultra trail with 26’000 meters elevation change!!!I will try to record a track with both watches and write a separate topic! Hope this problem will be fixed. Not that I have yet to switch to a manufacturer that has this under control! Media control, SuuntoPlus and so are cool, but the basic functions should not be neglected for that reason! Edit: I will update both watches and do a test. Hope that the backlght issue is finally fixed!

-
 @sartoric Yes! and the almost new and clean Titanium is also clean…
-
 I also have two Suunto 9 Baro watches. Latest firmware. The difference in altitude readings on one route is more than 10%.
