      I have had the S7 for a month, but the altimeter doesn’t work at all, from unrealistic values there is the possibility of manually calibrating? I use sport Mountain bike. it would be nice to have that chance

        @blenedfly
        could you please show us what exactly is the issue, by sharing screenshots or the activity after changing it to public?
        maybe there are some tipps to improve the altitude recording. some are already mentioned in this forum if you search for it.

          @freeheeler Dear,
          thanks for the answer, in the image below it is the most striking, from 2065 meters in altitude, compared with a friend with another device at most 25 meters …

            @blenedfly direi che o l’altimetro è rotto, oppure c’è qualcosa che pompa aria sul sensore (i buchi che vedi di lato).

              @isazi si penso anche io sia difettoso, avvolte pero’ sembra funzionare …
              comunque se aggiungessero una sorta di taratura manuale il problema si risolverebbe (cosa che altri dispositivi hanno)
              grazie per la risposta

              @isazi yes I also think I’m defective, but sometimes it seems to work …
              however if they added some sort of manual calibration the problem would be solved (which other devices have)
              Thanks for the reply

                maybe next time you can pay attention if something is covering the sensor holes. the graph looks like something was pumping (as @isazi said). don’t wear the watch too tight.
                in SA you can manually correct the total ascent to keep your annual statistics correct.
                and before you press start, please make sure the green arrow is constant and not flashing anymore 🙂
                keep us posted if this helps 👍

                  there is nothing that pumps air now I will try to wear it slower. Before starting the activity I wait 4/6 minutes … I will keep you updated

                    @blenedfly Try starting an activity and leave the watch on the same spot for e.g. 30 minutes. If the altitude goes up and down more than a few meters there is something wrong.
                    You can also strap the watch e.g. to the top of a backpack and make sure that it hangs freely and open. Then take a little walk on a flat surface. If the altitude goes up and down more than a few meters there is something wrong.

                        @blenedfly no manual calibration will not be the solution here, because the problem is the spikes, not the initial altitude. And your S7 calibrates automatically.

                          I also did the test that @aeroild recommended, in fact the height varies continuously by about 20 meters when standing still.
                          I have purchased from Amazon, I proceed to return the product and maybe buy another one

                            @blenedfly Hello friends,
                            today the second Suunto 7 arrived, immediately tried but the altimeter shows me an incorrect altitude (it seems to have no variations), or this model has some basic problems or Suunto does not want me as a customersuunto 2.jpg

                              I understand you wait some time after the green arrow is constant. we can exclude a wrong operation I guess.
                              Is it possible for you to upload some of your recorded activities to quantified-self.io, make them public and share the link here?
                              if you are concerned about privacy you can also send the link in private message.

                                @blenedfly I have a large number of activities, tens to hundreds with the S7 and another Suunto (S9baro or S9Peak) all worn at the same time. The altimeter for me on the S7 has been excellent, I can show you some of the data if you wish. If @freeheeler cannot help you I will try. I still have an use my S7 without issues.

                                  👍 I can only check activities like running together with my wife, as she has an S7 in use, without alti issues.
                                  the only issue she’s ever had with her S7 was wrong altitude when ahe started an activity before satellites were properly locked

                                      to me this graph looks like the sensor holes have been covered, maybe on sweaty skin.
                                      but it could be a faulty sensor, too. but my bet is, sensor hole covering. on the map it looks like this region is very flat.
                                      let’s see what @Brad_Olwin thinks about it.
