Smart sensor

@Ze-Stuart if you have a belt paired ohr should not work. Can you double check that ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos doesnt work I can confirm for baro.
-
@SlaSh and what happens if the belt goes out of reach ?/
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos HR is not tracked same story with if belt battery is depleted ohrm is not engaged and you are left without hr tracking until you stop workout.
-
@SlaSh yeah that is intentional since you are using the belt. I would never prefer the opposite.
There were a lot of cases in the past that people complained about this behavior of switching to ohr.
If you select the belt it should be the belt. You can leave the watch at the gym locker and go train without making it a mess.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Why not to leave option for user to use or not to use ohrm if signal with belt is lost?
-
@SlaSh that is what it should have been like. But it’s strange it isn’t.
-
@Ze-Stuart I have already done all the hints about the HR sensor, I bought a new sensor and it worked a week or two properly and then everything went bad. I’m using a Decathlon sensor for 30 USD and everything works great, just swimming is a problem. I bought a Wahoo sensor and check how it works. Suunto, I’ll get rid of the sensor.

@Brad_Olwin
Any new info about the acknowledged issue?
I just bough a new smart sensor as I have started doing a lot of open water swimming. But I am getting only partial data from the smart sensor/SSU…Paused ewach stint in OWS, last one didnt get recorded…

@johan6504 BTW is the water salty ?

No, not in this case, all swims with this new smart sensor has been in fresh water. But I will be racing in the ocean later.
-
@johan6504 will test today again. Will try the next days some swims with the belt on salty as well so keep an eye also at my moves if you like.
It can be a lot of factors to be honest but we will nail this one.
-
@johan6504 Not until next watch update. I saw this in the WatchuSeek forum where a member reported an issue with highHR or dropouts and Suunto send him an email acknowledging a software problem that will be fixed.
-
Replied also to the other thread.
Strangely at open water I get some flats with the belt. Reported it.

I have this issue too. Sometimes, at the middle of some run, the HR increases suddenly over 230/240/250 HR and after a while it drops to the correct values. It is like you add some offset to the HR data. Some times it happens even 2 or three times in a run. I thought it was related to some movement of the belt but it isn’t because I’ve tighten it till the point it has brushed my skin and some times I got the same issue. I also thought the belt was damaged, but it is quite new, from March, or even it was related to some new polyester T-shirts I bought but then it happened with the old ones which the ones I haven’t had the issue.
Anyway, it is good to know that it is a software issue, Suunto is aware of it and they will solve it.
-
@cosmecosta I think this has been hard to get at because it is not happening to everyone. Very rare for me. I have an older sensor.
-
@cosmecosta for the high readings its usually something bad with the belt. The watch AFAIK does not do it. I had those and with saliva at the belt instantly it was fixed
-
My belt is two weeks old, bought a new since I do a lot more swimming now.
My Polar H10 never skipped a beat during the last year, but on the other hand it cant handle swimming…
If Suunto cant handle it maybe Polar will have a solution for it in October -
@johan6504 you are talking about v800 successor?

The problem is that I do not see the spikes until I finish my run. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos do you mean that you use saliva instead of water with the belt and the spikes are gone?
Before I have the SSU I had a Ambit 3 Vertical with which I never had this problem (it was more than a year and I only changed the battery after 11 months). I have to say that the strap with the Vertical looked better than the one in the SSU with half of its life, for that reason, yesterday I ordered a new strap.
Here, you can see one of the spikes that I’m talking about, is from today’s run. This one has a spike (high area) that arribes to 217 bpm but other times has arrived to near 240 or even more. This only happens from time to time but lately is happening more often.
