@zanxion I hope so, otherwise only support can help you (if the HR module on your watch is faulty).

Could it be that battery mode changed due to low battery? Happened to me once and I think Suunto app kept the same HR value until the end of activity.

@Prenj It happened with the battery at about 60%. There was plenty of juice in it.

@isazi Today’s weight training had HR recorded without problems. Fingers crossed it was a glitch.

It happened again. I rebooted the watch earlier today but I still get flats as if the HR sensor gets stuck or something:

Here is the first really bad one that seems having HR stuck for the last Km of the run:

Should I send it to service? It is just a month old.

If it’s still in a return window… you’d better return it to seller.

The strange thing about it is that this does not happen during long (2 hr+) rides. I believe it must be some movement of the watch on my wrist that does causes that. When running the hands go hip-hop all the time, while riding a road bike they remain pretty much stationary on the handlebars.

@zanxion it is quite strange, but there is no way for us from here to understand if that is an inherent fault of the watch, or environmental (something related to the specific use you do of the watch). I think the easiest is to contact support and describe the issue to them. Your watch seems well within the warranty period.

@isazi Problem solved! I was out with a friend for a beer yesterday and saw his Garmin on his wrist. We started talking about activity tracking and at some point I told him about this. He said that his watch does in when sweat pours down his arms.
Well, at 37 deg C I sweat like a pig. I tried today this. I put a sweat wrist band just above my watch to cut off sweat finding its way under my watch. Finished the run et voila! No more flats, just perfect ups and downs from the start to the end of the fun!

A big thank you to you all!

@zanxion Glad to hear that you have identified the problem, but I don’t think sweat should shut down the HR monitor like that. I’d consider contacting Suunto and letting them have a look.

@michaeldwilson I will do so by the end of August. Now almost everyone is out on vacation. The sensor does not shut down (no zero reading). Instead it seems having a hard time reading the HR and for as long it keeps the last read value.
