I wish Suunto would make optical HR sensor

I wish Suunto would make similar optical HR sensor like Polar OH1 / Verity Sense.
It would make life much easier when playing team sports where one is not allowed to wear watch. With the current Suunto Smart Sensor HR belt it’s too much of a hassle since the belt is so low quality.

@JANTIKAINEN I don’t think there would be a HR estimation device from Suunto anytime soon , specially when Suunto already has a nice HR reader device with a small HR sensor and band that is comfortable to wear, at least I find it that way.

For your use case, you have options from other brands 🤟

@herlas Yes there are option from other brands but they don’t sync with Suunto watches when using the memory function, which I was referring as in many team sports watches are not allowed to be used.
The Suunto Smart Sensor HR belt is good size yes and comfortable but the strap is very bad quality - unreliable and is not working after few months of use.

Polar claim that the Verity Sense can broadcast up to 150m. They don’t specify whether that is for the ANT+ or Bluetooth connection, so I assume both. I’ve never tested it and I don’t know what team sports you play but that should be sufficient for most if you can leave your watch at the edge of the pitch/court.
