I’ve got an S9 Baro and have been using it without probs for about 3 years but suddenly last week the backlight would not switch off. It was in raise to wake mode. I disabled both raise to wake and standby but the backlight remains switched on permanently, even if I go to low power mode it stays on albeit very dimly.
I sent the log to Suunto via the app, the ID was: 3597182068500. A soft reset didn’t change anything and I don’t really want to do a factory reset unless absolutely necessary but that seems to be the only remaining option.
Hopefully a Suunto admin will see this post and offer me advice. Or perhaps another user will have suffered the issue and found a solution?

@Neil-Winston Long-press the middle button and check that backlight is off there…

      SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

@inkognito OMG that is hugely embarassing and a huge relief at the same time, thank you so much. I can’t believe I’d never noticed that option in the Shortcuts menu 🤦
