I didn’t get any notification yet perhaps it is because I‘m not on Strava?

I’m on Strava, joined and finished the challenge 150 m ascent (1 million vertical meters with Suunto and Pow), but I didn’t receive any message IN SA about the start of the vertical week.

However the S+ app on my S9PP is working and showing the total ascent of the vertical week.

It’s strange with the vertical week. No announced registration of participation in the app, no certainty as to whether starting the S+ app on the watch when recording an activity is sufficient for participation, no information in the app as to where I currently stand with my total ascent.

The display on the clock that shows Top 20 or 50 or 10 is the comparison with the community’s values from the last (!) week.

And I have to join the challenge in Strava to see where the participants and I currently stand.

Very strange.

How does it actually work with the watch faces: Are they automatically updated when changes are made or do I have to download them again?

I really do like this watch face. The overall appearance. The way, timers fit in. The “Adventure Starts Here” slogan. Especially on the AOD.
The outline on AOD reminds me a lot of the AOD on my Epix Pro.

I think this watchface is very nice that it would be worth leaving it in its current form, and making any changes or customisations on a different, new version/copy of this watchface.

I completed the challenge, but the rewards button leads to a blank landing page.

In my 9PP I’ve found this watchface revealing, in the sense that whitin the limits of the resolution and size of its MIP display Suunto has manageed still draw surprisingly well detailed items (the background mesh, the logo…). This is the way to go. Very happy, and looking forward to new ones.

@runomatic I completed it and received an email from Strava like this one. When you click on the button it gets you to the page with the code (it doesn’t look individual) and asks you for your email address if you want to participate in the prize draw.

I found out how to get around the problem.

Seems like there is a problem depending on which country you access it with (in my case Germany).

I opened a private browser tab and then selected the global Suunto website. It worked there.

You can then select Germany again for the country in the form.

The code has arrived.

What I find most incomprehensible is the fact that Strava also counts activities that are recorded manually and those that only generate virtual ascent (without moving one meter uphill or downhill).

What does that have to do with the actual purpose of the Vertical Week?

Well, like all challenges from external advertisers on Strava, this is purely a marketing gimmick. That should be clear.

@pilleus It actually says that Manual activities will not count towards your leaderboard ranking.

For me, Vertical Week is a great way to start spring with a challenge after winter and to consciously leave my comfort zone. Without virtual activities somewhere in the house, gym or basement. ️

@pilleus Okay, maybe. I’m more inspired by the nice weather we have now than a 15% discount and a virtual award.
