Suunto Smart Heart Beat belt connected, used, or not?
-
Hallo,
Same Question in english
I’m using a Race S with the Suunto HR belt. The app says the belt is connected, but my watch doesn’t show this with a specific symbol! Is it correct that my watch should show a green heart with a kind of strap icon instead of just the heart symbol for the optical sensor? Of course, I’d like to know whether my belt is actually working.

@Patrick-Holling yes, the watch should show a different heart icon than for the inbuild OHR.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply. Then I have to figure out why it is not working. Then I made my last runs, with the belt only for holding my breast high
Hope it will work, tried everything, except a new battery… that’s my last option…

@Patrick-Holling try to connect it to your mobile. Is the belt using bluetooth or Ant+? Ant+ does not work with your watch.
-
unfortunately it is not working, wherever I put it on my chest. Using all methods of moisturizing my chest. Sometimes, 1 in 20 attempts it shows a heartrate for a few seconds. Those are 80€ for my a***** !
-
@Patrick-Holling if your app is telling you, the belt is connected, then it is connected to the app.
The belt can have only one connection.
Disconnect the app from the belt and start pairing the belt from the watch (settings -> connectivity -> pair new device)
Only after this, the watch will be able to use the belt during activity. -
@Patrick-Holling
I would have explained exactely like @Egika. -
awesome, this works for me ! Now I see the sign with the strap, when I start an activity!
Nevertheless, now I have put my belt aside, because I don’t want to use it anymore for today. The heart on my watch, is still „strapped“ , when I start a run ! Doesn’t it change back to the optical sensor by itself, or do I have to move further away from my belt, or something like this ?
-
@Patrick-Holling yes. once the watch is connected to the belt, it will try to use it. The belt itself switches itself off after like 15mins or so.
What you can do: Go into the the training option before starting and disable the belt.
-
awesome, yes I figured it out, how you advised.
you should work for SUUNTO, if not already doing. All the best from Germany
