I currently have a garmin hrm pro that I’ve been using for years and as far as I’m aware it works well and pairs with my race 2. Its getting a bit old and smelly now and will likely need replacing soon so wondering if there are any advantages with the suunto belt over the garmin. I dont know what I dont know, so am I missing anything using the garmin?

@TED77 The first thing that comes to mind is that Suunto Smart Sensor has a memory function.
In addition, Suunto Run has recently gained the ability to collect dynamic running data from sources such as Garmin. That said, I don’t know if R2 will also receive these features in future updates…

@TED77 The above are all true and useful. One other thing to keep in mind is there is no ANT+ which is useful if you are using a bike computer. Also you can only have one BT connection at a time vs the HRM Pro will allow 2 simultaneous connections.

Suunto Vertical, Race, Race 2, Race S and Run. Rocking the Vertical 2 Titanium at the moment.
Garmin: Fenix 7X, Epix Pro 51mm, Forerunner 265.
          Coros: Pace Pro, Apex 4
