My Plan Beta

@aiv4r you guys don’t get it - it’s meant to be motivational! Either you can do it or you‘d better leave Suunto and get one of those wimpy Garmins!
I mean come on: 45 minutes easy pace with TSS 23 going 18,9 km - that’s how Suunto’s crew is doing it!

@ChrisA you must be superhero

@Miroslava I actually asked for a very easy plan since I couldn’t working out for some months

-
@ChrisA Its treadmill, so you can go for a walk while it is running

One thing that improved my training plans: setting your pace zones for running in the watch. Go to:
settings -> training>intensity zones>advanced zones>Running>pace zonesThere are some default values that were way faster than my current capabilities. After changing that, the plans got better
But I got a question myself:
It has rather to do with training theory and not the app I guess. My plan is suggesting interval runs, 5x400m, which is 2km total (I am quite the beginner), with 90s of “trotting” in between. However, the target distance for this training, is 3.2km. Am I supposed to run the 1.2km difference before as a warmup? Or split it up before and after the intervals? Because I won’t make that much distance in the 90-seconds breaks. -
@amko34 If you have 5 intervals you have 5 breaks too. So I think you should do the 1.2 km in 7:30 minutes (90 sec 5 times). That seems a reasonable pace to me…

@jschmidt Is the beta plan really working now? Or will it simply be abandoned after 3 weeks?
-
@jschmidt I am supposed to train in Zone 3 for this workout, where the pace for my intervals is already worse than 07:30min/km, so I cannot do this in the 5 90-seconds breaks, where I am supposed to get my heart rate down (I am basically walking
).But I just put a 1km warm up and 1 km cool down before and after the intervals anyway and just ran a bit more than suggested. Thanks for your reply though, I assume once i improve my fitness and condition, the difference in km to the intervals is supposed to be the distance covered during the breaks and it will be realistic for me to achieve it in future.

@Sportsfreund To be honest: I didn’t manage to follow the plan for longer than a week. It offers too less possibility of variation. My days are too changing spontaneously that I could follow a plan in the way Suunto is offering it.
