Has anyone else noticed faster battery drain since moving to the Vector watch face?
I track my battery usage very closely and since moving from the Athletics watch face (which has many complications) I see roughly 30% faster battery depletion.
I did a soft reset before my latest charge to 100% but it’s still the same. I plan to move back to Athletics in a few days to validate it’s indeed the watch face. No other settings were changed. At least not intentionally.

I also see increased drain with this watch face, but only when the watch is worn. No drain during the night when the watch lies on the desk.

I suspect it did impact my S9PP so I changed it after half a day

Yes, I have the battery problem too. With both the SR2 and the V2.

Might be related to using compass data (?) It’s updated real-time when the compass complication is selected. Maybe the watch face keeps the compass active.

@gkaempfer I noticed increased battery drain on my Race 1 after installing the Vector so went back to Outback Adventure.

Annoyingly I’m still seeing the battery draining much quicker than it did previously despite un-installing the Vector completely…

@halajos This is my hypotheses as well!

The other is. The AOD is quite bright. It could be helpful if the numbers were in colour and if the number weren’t filled in (like the AOD of Outback Adventure

@Mattg576 Me too! But then I reset it and it seems like back to normal.

I do not experience a bigger battery drain with Race S. Lucky me.

I reverted back to the Athletics watch face (+ soft reset for good measure). Immediately my battery consumption is back to where it was before. It seems that the specific complications may have significant effect on battery usage. I have the following on Athletics:

                            1. Steps
                            2. Weekly training duration
                            3. Callories
                            4. HR
                            5. Battery % left.

I guess that getting immediate reading of compass, barometer and elevation requires some background work that consumes battery. What I don’t really understand is why this is needed even during activities (where I also observed significant increased battery usage)

I don’t see increased battery use with the Vector watch face.
There must be some other factor than just the bare use of this watch face.

@Egika I know I didn’t do anything else beyond switch watch face. I didn’t even change the Oragne color (which I like) and when I switched back the return to normal was immediately observable (I compare to the battery usage model I use for reference which is very accurate when used with my Athletics watch face setup). I’m on the Vertical 2. Maybe it’s different for others.

I have the Suunto Race. Have been running this face now since it got out. And honestly, not battery drain issues here. But I keep the lower complications mostly on Altitude. I have noticed on compass or baro there is a 1% to 2% drop more at the end of a day vice a regular day.
