Treadmill Run2
-
Hi, is there any way to get the Suunto Run 2 to display pace when running on a treadmill?
-
I own a Suunto Run watch, which is using the same base operating system as Run 2 (the version of the OS for Run 2 has some updates).
So far I haven’t found a way to display running pace when running on the treadmill. Connecting a foot pod as an external sensor does not help either. Running pace simply not available during a treadmill workout.

@speed-man Hi, I don’t know if it works the same way. Try creating your own sport mode in the Suunto mobile app. There you can enter all the information you want to see on the watch.

@MarTej_cz That’s an interesting idea to explore. I wonder if that would work when using the “other” category as the basis for a custom sport mode? At least in that case the Pace is available to be selected to be show in a data screen.
I’m not 100% sure if it’s the same for Run 2, but on the original Run Pace is not available if you create your own sport mode based on treadmill workout, or if you try to edit the screens for the existing treadmill workout. That means that the custom sport mode can’t be based on the “treadmill” type.

@Speed-Man In a workout like this, the watch lacks a key piece of data usually obtained via GPS—namely, distance.
It tracks time, but without distance, how can it calculate pace? -
@Danny-poleg You are correct that there is no GPS during the treadmill workout, but the watch shows the distance (estimated) during the workout.
The metrics on the default screen of a treadmill workout are: Distance, Total training stress, and Heart rate.

@Danny-poleg The watch, after finishing the run on the treadmill, has a calibration. = 5km treadmill, Watch 6km, 5km treadmill, the next run the watch will show everything correctly.
