@Durri so for indoor climbing what I did wasn’t to create a new sport mode, but simply to disable GPS and navigation from the options of the “exercise” (all from the watch).

And with “exercise” I mean the already present climbing mode.

@Durri might not be the preferred - or even feasible- solution for you … but I simply added Stryd as FootPod to the existing Treadmill Profile.

Hm - if it works with the default sport modes it should do so with new ones as well.
The solution can’t be to just and only use the default modes - as there are good reasons to create customized modes!
Is the issue acknowleged with customized sport modes for everyone?

@Durri just to be sure, because after reading this thread I did not see anyone mention this - have you tried pressing/swiping down from the start exercise screen? There you will find additional options for the current sport mode - go to Power Savings and under GPS, select OFF. Then just navigate back to the start exercise screen and start your exercise. This should work for all sport modes, regardless if it’s a custom or default mode.

@Durri you can set the gps accuracy to off only for custom battery mode, but then you must also select it if you want the settings made by you to be used. So don’t navigate back but swipe up and pick select, later, as mentioned by @fejker , even changing the battery mode to perf., endur. or ultra, the gps will remain disabled.
