S9B shows strange behavior

My S9B shows strange behavior about every two weeks.
After putting on the watch, I notice that neither the heart rate, steps or e.g. Traings are displayed. I can only stop this behavior (minutes to hours) if I hold the top right button for at least 12 seconds (warm start). The watch then displays the heart rate, steps and taings again. -
@Reuse
You should contact suunto support, maybe it’s defective -

Thanks to all of you. I will do the hard reset at first.

I had also strange behavior with S9B again. 2 times within 3 months with Suunto and 3 times in 5 years with Polar.
About three weeks after it happened the first time, it happened again. I looked at my watch to check the time - display completely black (the watch was on my wrist). None of the buttons works. I had to hold upper button for 12 seconds again. After that I did hard reset via SuuntoLink.
I am sick of this watch and cannot return it. My V800 is far better and more accurate, except it has bit lower battery duration, but the most accurate SiRFstar IV GPS chipset. Only thing that is worse is beaten look and inaccurate optical heartrate sensor missing. And I think it was cheaper (when new) than Suunto 9 Baro.
I am really pissed they don’t release new firmware with some of things people here asked for (now with Covid-19 we can forget about firmware for even longer period of time) and the app.
Why they don’t add more screens I don’t get and simple things like change starting day of a week. Those are the minor changes but would mean a lot. Waypoint and POIs were promised long time ago…I have an alternative for those, but how to add more than 3 screens…what is waiting Suunto?Since I wrote those things I would like to mention and ask about another thing - I will open a topic if needed.
If I make custom Indoor cycling profile, why the watch searches for a GPS signal? Come on. INDOOR ACTIVITY.
And why the breadcrumbs screen in such activity…that I cannot remove. It is just stupid. Now you will write - just use predefined profile.Polar in app has all kind of settings (beside screens) for each sport that includes - GPS ON/OFF.
Am I missing something, how can I disable GPS in indoor activity? I can only turn off navigation before start of activity.I would like to see if those black non-responsive screens would happen on newer firmware or I should send my unit for a repair (I guess it is too late for a refund now and I think it is a software issue).
Thanks for answers.

@Cuba1hr for the indoor activity select a custom power profile and disable GPS. I know it’s not very intuitive but it’s how it works at the moment. For the rest, I don’t know, maybe you were very unlucky, my S9 has not had any problems in the 7 months I had it. But this is also irrelevant, because for statistics we need the whole picture, not just our anecdotal experiences.

and disable GPS
@isazi
How exactly do you disable GPS? You mean on START screen you press down button and set Navigation OFF or something else? -
@Cuba1hr press down until you get to “Battery mode”, then select “Custom” and there you can disable GPS.
-
Aaaah yes, that’s it. I knew there was something:)
Thanks, it has been a while since I was messing with the battery modes.Although those settings should be available when customizing sports activities in the app itself, in my opinion.
-
@Cuba1hr and what you requested, enabling or disabling GPS, is in the latest software update
-
I see now in the app news about firmware update. I will update, but I guess you meant somewhere in the options of activity on the watch itself, not the Suunto App (in the latest SOFTWARE update). It would be nice to have options there, beside “just screens” and name of the activity, to set all those things through the app. If it appears somehow, I will have to delete the post:)
…and to edit I am really intrested how to choose multiple SuuntoPlus options, i.e. Strava, TrainingPeaks pace & heartrate or you are limited to only one of SuuntoPlus “features”. Updating…

Yes I meant on the watch, without the need to have a custom battery mode.

I think you can activate only one at the time.

Yes, alright. I was hoping for Virtual Racer/Race Pace maybe in the SuuntoPlus update, but nothing for now…off-topic.

Interestingly enough, this morning I woke up and my screen was black. Thought the battery ran out during the night because yesterday evening was at 30%, and although it should not, I thought that was the case.
I plugged the cable in and to the charger, but in the app noticed that the watch was still connected and it correctly measured sleep and HR until I removed it.
Not it is plugged to my computer and I just sent logs via Suuntolink [1].
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos should I try to reboot and send logs again, or this is enough?
The screen is still black so I will reboot it at some point, but I am waiting in case I can help with debugging[1] ID: 93593450400

This black screen had happened to me 2 or 3 times with previous firmware (I do not remember which but there are posts, other users had the same), not with the latest. I thought it was solved because after a firmware uograde I have never faced it again. Is like the watch is working but the screen can’t wake up.
With a soft-reset it should be solved.

@cosmecosta it’s the first time it happens to me, and I am using the latest firmware at the moment.
