I use my Ambit3 watch to record my runs. On returning home I cync the results to my I phone, which I don’t take with me.
Once cync’d I sadly review my overall time and my mile split times. However I’ve noticed that the two don’t match? My mile split times don’t add up to the overall times. Why is this? Am I loosing gps on my run? Should I cync my watch and phone beforehand and take my phone on my run?
Sorry, but the difference is irritating me and the overall time is faster than my total split times.
    Thanks for any clarity.

    Nick

        @isazi
        Thanks for offering to assist.
For example I completed a run the other day. It’s recorded on my app as Follows:-
        Distance 4.84 miles
        Duration 38’17.1
        Ave pace 7’54 miles
        Mile split
        1 - 7’22.5
        2- 7’38.2
        3- 8’13.6
        4- 8’20.7
        .84 7’02.5

I believe the split adds up to 38 minutes and 35 seconds.
Am I interpreting the data incorrectly.
I would really appreciate understanding the issue, which may be me!
        Thanks

        Nick

@nickshutt if you look in your watch logbook you see the same split times or there are different? Sometimes I noticed in Movescount that my watch used wrong split, for example 1.01 km or 0.99 km instead of 1 km as set for autolap not sure why, but never sum up my split time to check with the total. Maybe the Ambits are having a bug with autolap?!

@nickshutt I now understand. Just checked one of my runs and the sum of the splits sums to the total duration.

Can anyone check the same using Ambit and SA?

              There is something definitely wrong.
Below is my 5.18 km run with total time of 26’39.5 on 15/04/2020. All of them (watch, Movescount and Suunto app) report the same total time and distance.
Watch and Movescount used autolap which was set to 1 km.
Split / Watch / Movescount / Suunto app
              1 / 5’17.4 / 5’16.7 / 5’16.5
              2 / 5’11.1 / 5’11.2 / 5’12.4
              3 / 5’12.1 / 5’12.1 / 5’10.4
              4 / 5’05.8 / 5’05.8 / 5’06.0
              5 / 4’58.0 / 4’57.7 / 4’59.5
              6 / 0’55.4 / 0’55.0 / 0’53.8
              Sum up time: 26’39.8 / 26’38.5 / 26’38.6
It isn’t a big difference, but definitely something is fishy.
Suunto app for 5 and 10 km split sum up 26’38.8 and shows the exact same autolap splits as the watch.
** watch is an Ambit3 Vertical

On my todays run I disabled autolap and did manual laps (not exactly 1 km, but it doesn’t matter in times perspective).
In watch: splits sums up exaclty the registered duration, however the manual splits don’t transfer exacly the same to Suunto app, so final sums it isn’t correct, it is about 0.9 seconds less, but exactly the same as 1 km splits sum from Suunto app. Interestingly 5 and 10 km splits sums are 0.1 and 0.2 seconds more than 1 km split sum from Suunto app. Now go figure out!

Any luck in establishing the issue? Thanks Nick

@nickshutt sorry, I don’t seem to have this issue.
