I use my Suunto Spartan Trainer with a Polar H10. Everything has been working fine.
My previous seasons of open water swimming have recorded my heart rate fine. The watch had been on my wrist and I’m guessing the Polar H10 recorded the HR data on it’s internal storage and then synced it to my Spartan at the end of the swim.

This season, I have been placing the Spartan in my swim hat. The GPS tracking has been so much better, I now have a problem where the Polar H10 data is not being recorded for the whole swim. I do get some HR data when I first start the exercise (before the water is past my chest) and HR data after the swim (when I get out of the water.)

Why is the Polar H10 data saved on it’s internal memory not being saved to the watch? On today’s swim when I saved the exercise on the Spartan watch the screen read ‘Saving HR Data’ but it only had data for the beginning and end as described above.

I have tested the H10 with the Polar Beat app and the HR data records perfectly on the H10 and sync’s the data to Polar beat when in range and saving exercise
    .
Is there a solution and has anybody else experienced the same problem?

@Jay-Elliott to my knowledge, it should not be possible to sync recorded Polar HR data with Suunto watches. Recording and syncing should only work with the Suunto HR sensor.

          @Jay-Elliott
          Trainer had wrist HR?
Are you sure your last season HR data came from H10 and not from wrist HR?
Because H10 is known not to sync its memory to Suunto watches.

I was wearing the watch over my wetsuit so presumed the HR data was from the Polar H10.

Sorry if i ask silly questions 😊, just to try to understand. 😉
Were your HR data reliable? Because optical HR sensors can enventually mesure something even on bananas, so why not on wetsuits? 😂😳.
By the way, your case is strange 🤔

@Mff73 said in Polar H10 not syncing it's internally stored HR data to Spartan watch after swim.:

sensors can enventually mesure something even on bananas

that is when measurement results also go bananas 😂

… good to know that H10 does not sync recorded data, it would for me be the only benefit over the H9. But then I’ll go for the H9 once my smartsensor is worn again.
Sorry to high jack this thread… are there any other disadvantages using the H9 compared to the smartsensor?

🍌 Looking back on last year’s HR data I can see that they are a bit low 🙈. I was obviously paying more attention to speed and distance.

I’m gutted the H10’s stored data doesn’t sync to my Spartan.

                  Sorry for wasting time.

1207 kcal for an 1:23 swim. That’s why I thought it was working. This was with the watch over wetsuit wrist.

@TELE-HO well, in fact H10 can sync stored HR data, but only with Polar App. It won’t sync stored data to any other device or application than Polar app. I have no personal experience, but at least, this is what I read in specification for H10.
