    Hi,

Just a small nuisance that I would like to verify.

Normally when riding my bike, I have the cheststrap interacting with my S9b attached to the handlebar with the rubber accessory. No issues, strap is detected via BT and is the preferred HR device during the workout.
However, when I decide to ride without the strap and chose the same bike workout and attach the S9b to my handlebar, it also detects a heartrate via the OHRM. This normally is about 20% higher than I would ever achieve during any workout.

I know I can disable the OHRM before starting the workout. But technically reading through Valencells documentation on OHRM, I would not expect it to detect any heartbeat on a handlebar ? 🙂

Bug, or something to live with ?

    Cheers

        hmm… 🙂 okay, no worries…

But reading through the Valencell docu and how smart this technology and sensors should actually be, and not only reading HR, but also all kinds of other measurements (eg bloodpressure, VO2Max etc.)
It makes me wonder why it can’t distinguish between my skin and a piece of rubber on the bike’s handlebar 😉

@BakxM LED technology. It tries to detect light. Like counting ship from your window.

Once something moves a bit (eg shaking etc) it will thing its oxygen in your blood.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Are we absolutely sure the bike is dead?

This not only happens with Suuntos OHR. I’m using the Polar OH1, and the other day I flipped it inside its support in the arm strap and I went for a run without noticing it and I also got HR reading which were a bit high but pretty realistic.
