@Stefan-Labler You can lock buttons even in pause mode. Long press the lower button to do so. Unfortunately it’s the same button as used for ending the activity, so I always feel a bit insecure while doing that 😄

    SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

@inkognito in that case… it’s good a message SURE DELETE to give you a second chance in a accidental press
Because same button for delete and lock its like climbing without a rope 🤣

@gerasimos it’s for ending, not deleting. To delete you have to end the activity, scroll down, select delete, and then confirm. So there are already some checks before you can delete an activity 🙂

Yes, but I’ve always wanted ALSO a lock button when not in activity mode just like My Ambits had.
I really miss not having a lock button when in the home screen for example for when I stash my watch in my pack but not track. Last time, it mush have touched some buttons and it reset my watch !?!!??

I think somewhere in the forum is exactly same discussion…
Anyway, I will not recommend that, it will give more value just to have a ‘continue activity’ from the log view. Just go to the list of the activities and then ‘raise and continue’

Off course other problems will immediately come, like, what happens if this activity has already sync?

My bike GPS, a Sigma one, the activities are always the same until you actively finish it. I mean, if I go for a ride, finish it and turn off the GPS, the next ride I will continue that activity. I have to actively finish the activity to start a new one. Nothing is sync until the activity is finished (to finish an activity I have to long press on button).

With this it is very difficult that you finish and activity unintentionaly and it is a nice solution for a multiple days activity but on the other hand you could end up with a very loooong, non intended, activity.

Maybe suunto should also ask for confirmation before finishing the activity.
