Assisted GPS issues on S9 since 2.13.18
-
@fritzbt2013 if I am not wrong this is more about the app than the watch. Android users have not add the issue (except at the beginning of the year when Sony effed up). Is it still not working with the newly updated app?
-
@fritzbt2013 as I understood from @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos there is an issue with the latest public release of iOS app and hotfix should come soon.
-
@andrasveres Thanks for this info.
@isazi Still not working unless I reboot watch (which I just did, so I’m good today).
-
@fritzbt2013 is there any possibilities to you to downgrade your ios app if the new isn’t working good ?
-
@g287-sf Not easily on iOS as far as I know.
-
@fritzbt2013 you must check on YouTube, i know it’s possible to install older version because i use an very old ipad and whe last version aren’t compatible. I have the possibility to instal other version. So maybe there is a way for you to.
At least you can jailbreak your iphone and do what you want -
@fritzbt2013 Watch synced AGPS data without issue today (no firmware or SA update). So not sure of the failure pattern here. Maybe it’s a cloud service issue … will continue to monitor daily for now.
-
@fritzbt2013 Continues to work without issue for me now. Still on 2.0.0 and 2.13.18. One additional detail I want to add is that at some point when I was having issues I must have switched the app to only use GPS when using. I switched that to “Always Allow” and now the AGPS data updates overnight like it did before.
-
@fritzbt2013 have you try to sync the watch with suunto link directly on your computer ? If i’m right it automatically update gps data
-
My AGPS is upgraded from today. I do the same trail as monday (i just stop 250m before)
I import all my data on QS and i can see my altitude info aren’t the same
Today
Monday
-
@g287-sf what do you mean its not the same? They differ 3meters right?
-
I think that we’re finally getting to a point where a sticky topic on GPS performance is necessary, as the amount of misconceptions about this technology is very high.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos I mean when you look at mini and Maxi altitude it’s
First run 21m mini / 40m maxi
The second run it’s 8m mini / 20m maxi.it was the exact same place and i follow the same GPX.
-
@g287-sf got it right… Same GPS system ?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos yes same set up, my S9Baro and SA to sync the gpx. Before everything i launch SA, sync. After i launch my watch wait for HR and GPS and that’s all.
Watch is set in GPS/GZSS + Galileo (i’m in France)
-
@g287-sf Try glonass should be more consistent on altitude or beidou
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos ok i will try, it give me an excuse to do a the trail again
-
@g287-sf haha
