@77alex77 If it is bluetooth you shouldn’t have any problem.

@77alex77 i use the OH1 every time. Very easy to use. I put it on the inside of my front arm where the skin is thinner.
The new one do the same just with a better battery 24h instead of 12h. And better range for bluetooth

I’ve been using one for years - it’s the next best thing to a chest strap, especially for weight training. Hope it works well for you.

I’m using the combo S9B + Polar OH1 for more than a year without any issues but charging it once a week and that the response is a bit slower than a chest strap. I mean the HR graph shape is correct but it is delayed some seconds, but I think is the same for all OHR.

@cosmecosta I agree about being precise but a bit slower to react (it’s just a matter of seconds though) then a chest strap.

Comparing it with a chest strap I also realized that it is not that precise for some workouts, better than the wrist, but still if your arm muscles are moving a lot I still prefer the strap.

@isazi Totally agree with this. If you wear both at the same time, you can see the lag between a chest strap and one on the upper arm

@isazi Yep. Optionally, one can also experiment with placing the OH1 on the leg. Or even use the headband and place it on the temple 🙂

Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

I think the delay “can be” important for some people and not for others. For what I use it, running and trail running, the delay is not so important, if one day I decide to do some test where this delay it is important or more precise values are needed I would use the POLAR H10 that I also have and I’m using mainly for biking with a garmin 530.

I bought the OH1 because the H10 (the Suunto Smart Sensor too) were giving me bruises when I was running and sweating, and this bruises didn’t have time to heal between runs. With the OH1 I do not have this problem.

BTW, I always wear the OH1 in the upper arm.

I have received the Polar very sense and tested it just a few minutes : it works fine. Tomorrow, my wife should run with it, I will tell you what I think versus the Suunto smart sensor she has used till now.

                          Hello,

After 1 hour of running, my wife has told me the Polar Verity Sense worked fine with her Suunto 5. She is very happy.

                            Hello,

I have bought a Verity Sense for myself and link it to my Suunto 9. I wear it on the forearm.

After 4 trainings, I can tell you that it works really better than my Suunto smart sensor. I think the belt of the smart sensor is not compatible with my skin because after a while, or from the very beginning, the smart sensor provides wrong data. [I’ve tried all the recommendations provided by Suunto to make it working better but without any good results]

With the Verity Sense, that works perfectly. The data provided are very consistent all along the training.

My trainings are about 1h15 long and after 4, the battery of the Verity Sense went from 100% to 90% which is quite good.

                              Thanks for sharing.

                              The smart sensor works well.

I’ve tried Wahoo, polar, Garmin, Suunto… and finally I like yo use the polar OHR, hH10 and the Suunto (the new one).

When I want to use RR of HRV and an app and the watch with the same sensor the polar is my to go. If I go to swim I use the Suunto’s.
