S9 and HR belt

@MaxiPalle did you try to use a stock sport mode?
Does HR appear there? -

individual sport modes
I have this behavior (no HR data with Suunto or Polar belt) with every custom sport mode during the first activity on my Spartan Ultra. From the second activity on everything works perfect. I have no idea why this is happening!?
-
@pilleus can confirm this behaviour. Tested it today. It doesn’t works as expected in a custom Sports when using it for the first time.
But it works when using it the second time after a few seconds. -
For me works fine. I have Polar H10 belt, because Suunto strap is only for few months and its gone Today I created custom profile for bike and used it with my Polar H10 belt and no problem.
-
@MaxiPalle I will test this today but have never experienced this. I rarely use OHR on my S9 and almost always use the belt. Do you know the status of the battery in the belt sensor? Also, I wet the the belt under running water where the contacts are, if you put the belt on dry it often does not have enough moisture for a signal.

Hi everybody. I will reuse this post not to open unnecessary new one. Do you know if S9b is compatible with Garmin’s HRM Pro? I have the HRM Run but this is no good since it is ANT+ so I want to get the Pro that offers 2 simultaneous BT and unlimited ANT+. I occasionally use fenix and do not want to miss the ‘running dynamics’ that Garmin offers. Want to use belt with the s9b cause the OHR is almost unusable for me When running the first minutes it locks on my cadence so it gives 50-60 beats more, then it somewhat stabilizes and when biking it goes too low (45 - 55 bpm which I only have when sleeping). Thank you and take care!

@hristijan-petreski the S9 connects to any Bluetooth HRM as far as I know.
-
@isazi Thanks a lot. Will give it a try and post my feedback here for future references.
-
@hristijan-petreski I tested Polar, Wahoo, and Suunto in the past.

And what was the best ? (For you)
-
@vicoongrou there is no answer to this question, it depend on who you are and where you live. I currently have the Suunto belt and a Polar OH1.
-
I’ve connected my S9B to a Polar OH1 and a Suunto Smart belt - though not at the same time! Both worked ok after pairing and then selecting for the activity. I also switched off the wrist HR from the watch.
-
@wakarimasen If you are connected to an HR belt or armband you do not need to switch off the wrist HR in the watch. It is automatically disabled. In the GPS lock screen you will see that the Hr symbol has like a strap, when the watch uses the wrist HR the symbol is a plain heart.
What the watch doesn’t do is to switch between wrist and chest/armband HR. I mean, if you lock the GPS/HR with the OH1 switched off and then turn on the OH1 the watch is not going to use the OH1. You must turn it on before you go to the GPS/HR lock screen.
BTW @wakarimasen @isazi , a little bit of topic, but how is the battery life in your OH1? mine is lasting only around 5/6 hours and I’m thinking on contacting support.

Too short if is not very old.

I am not using it for very long activities, lately it has become my travel companion when I want to bring something compact in a trip. But I can do two back to back days with 4/5 hours if I remember correctly.

Thanks @bulkan, it has less than a year, 11 months only. Definitely I will contact Polar support.
-
@cosmecosta Before you do, check that you have the latest firmware installed via Polar Flow or Polar Beat. You might also try to disable ANT+, maybe that helps a bit. Mine is ~ 14 months old and the battery can last 9+ hours.
-
@cosmecosta I thought switching off the WHR might save a little battery life - I’m all about charging infrequently.
SO far as the OH1 is concerned, I used it on Sunday when fielding in a cricket game for 3 hours, and Polar Beat still says that the battery is ‘full!’
Based on past experience, I would say it normally lasts longer than 5-6 hours, and I bought it 2019.
Best regards,

@inkognito Thanks,
I’m in the last FW, but I had ANT activated, I’ve just disabled it and I’ll see how the battery performs, if continues the same I’ll contact support.
Thanks to everybody.

@cosmecosta Just to let you know: I have both enabled. In fact I used the OH1 connected to a Garmin Fenix 3 HR (using Ant) and also to the Polar Beat app during one gym session, just to see what would happen!
