Backlight

@vio112 next week this firmware will be released for suunto 5, so now when i have backup plan i will test it myself without worrying. If it reduce battery life i will downgrade .
P.S. touch screen lock is reason i bought Suunto 5 and not Suunto 9 because it would drive me nuts.

@egika thanks, do you know how to get last 4 digits of my current firmware? I have 2.14.16 and if i give a try to new one, i would like to return back to this current version.
the last 4 digits are the same for everyone per watchmodel/FW version released in production.
if you have 2.12.30 on your S5 watch, you should/must have FW Monza 2.12.30.1410-J. -
@mff73 yes but i don’t have 2.12.30 but 2.14.16 and Monza-fw_2.14.16.1410-J.zip doesn’t exists. So number 1410 should be replaced for some another i think.

@tomas5
Current FW should be this one:

@egika thank you very much

Update was released, so i can test battery life. Now backlight is enabled on every button press. Really curious how it will drain battery.

I really really dislike this “feature”. The toggle function was much better. So please update me, if the downgrade worked @vio112
Thanks!But why does the “backlight on / off” function is still in the quick menu? It has then no function…
-
@theguyfromthesummit it has a function. It runs the backlight on , not the standby light on.
-
In my case not, or I do sth wrong.
Backlight: low
Standby: off
Raise the wake: off
Do not disturb: offquick menu backlight: on/ off does not change anything
Light is only on, when I push a button (so like standby was before the update) and the old tab to toggle on/ off does not workBacklight: low
Standby: on
Raise the wake: off
Do not disturbe: offquick menu backlight: on/ off does not change anything
No matter what I do, the light is always on. -
I just did the “downgrade”. It worked fine but then it was as if the watch is new. I had to re-enter my personal data and re-create my custom exercises. Not a big deal.
What does bother me is that Suntolink and the app keep telling me that there is a new version to install.

@pikeviewer thanks for the info, I might downgrade mine on the weekend.
Unfortunately “snap to route” is a nice function …
