Newbie: How do I dismiss an alarm

Hi folks,
New S7 owner here.
I set up alarms for the morning and I have a challenging time dismissing the alarm.
I tried bringing up the preinstalled alam APP, doesn’t load while the alarm is ringing away…
The only thing that I found works is to bring up the Google Assistant and say “Turn alam off” … brings up alarm, on and off, where I can dismiss it. Hoping someone out there has figured this out.
Am I missing something silly?? I searched for any shortcuts to dismissing the alarm, like one of the HW buttons, but haven’t found anything helpful.

Stressing my mornings… any pointers, suggestions?

You should see a notification with the time, a ZZZ and an ‘other icon’. Press that other icon.

If you don’t see the notification, try swipe up from bottom.

Otherwise, I set a H/W button shortcut from middle button to alarm app, and if alarm is vibrating and I’m confused because I’m sleepy, I know to just press the middle button, and get the screen with the ZZZ and the ‘other icon’.
