Does anyone know if it possible to send a 9 in and have the steel bezel replaced with a titanium one? Thanks!

I would expect that this works technically… it’s the only access to the inside of the watch.
Just get in touch with Customer Service 👍

@fazel I assume it is going to cost nearly the same than a new watch 🤔

I was assuming “battery service” (mentioned somewhere else) required taking the bezel off and replacing the battery. What I’m trying to determine is whether sending the watch in and having it returned with a new battery and a titanium bezel is (a) possible, and (b) economically feasible. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos?

In the past I was getting my suunto core replaced on warranty.
I asked if I could have one with negative screen instead. They gave me a quotation and the price was almost the same of a new watch.
In your case I think it can be the same. But ask on support.

@freeheeler not so sure. Titanium has different expansion coefficient than steel, might be significant enough to force small changes hardwarewise.

I do not think so, I’m quite sure (from my experience designing parts) that the case and the fixation system of all the bezels are the same, then the gaskets do the proper seal. For the official temperature use range I think that the differences in dimensions are really small.

@cosmecosta you are probably right! My main concern would lie in screws and screw holes being affected by different expansion coefficient. I looked it up, difference is about 10% which is not that significant.

Adding another question to this one, if for some reason you need a bezel replacement because got so many scratches of hard use or accidentally you droped the S9 and there is a visible and ugly thing in the bezel that you can’t stand watching and want a new shiny bezel, same or different model (if compatible), does this means that what you are paying for this replacement is goint to be nearly the full cost of a new S9?

you are not allowed to replace the bezel for a shinier one before your bezel looks like…

yeah… I had to save this pic when some friends in here posted it to remind myself whenever I think my watch is being used heavily… I might be wrong 😂

Only support or an official reapir center will be able to tell you.
For portugal and spain, the repair center, in 2020 had the price of 50-60eur for the S9.
Price list here. I don’t know if it is need to add any other cost.

@andré-faria what does “upgrade” mean? Trade-in program?

I am not sure . You have to ask. But I believe is a bit like that. If I remember correctly when I had the positive display core, and it was replaced on warranty and I asked for negative display one, I think they gave me that price.

FYI - I contacted support. They replied stating neither bezel replacement nor trade-in were possible. I had linked to the price list @André-Faria posted in my request, but no dice. Maybe those options are only available for warranty requests?
