Suunto 5 autolap not resetting after pressing lap button
-
Hi,
I’ve recently changed from Garmin to Suunto and was wondering whether there is a setting I can change so than when I manually lap, it restarts the autolap period from then rather than from the start of the run. I do a lot of 1, 2 or 3km intervals and usually don’t bother setting up a workout, but just press the lap button when I start each interval. On my garmin that would restart autolap from there so I could check my km splits or stop at then end of each lap. Currently I have autolap set at 1km intervals, but if I press the lap button 500m into the run, the autolap will still occur at 1km, rather than 1.5km. -
@tommorunner I don’t currently own a Garmin, but it’s well known that Suunto doesn’t mix autolaps with manual laps as Garmin does, I bet you miss that but as always it’s a matter of what you’re used to.
It’s been always like that in Suunto and find it hard to see it changing anytime soon.
For your use case above, you can try setting up intervals on the fly if they’re fixed in duration and rest with the built-in functionality of tradicional intervals, or use a manual interval Suunto + app that you can select to have more control on when it starts and ends, this is on the fly as well. (unless S+ apps cannot be selected during mid-run on your Suunto 5, I’m not sure though)
The autolap will still beep f you didn’t disable it at the start screen of the workout though
I personally prefer it as implemented in Suunto, but I’m so used to it

@tommorunner As @herlas stated, very easy to set up intervals when you start the run.
