Cadence ?

I’m quite happy with the Suunto app. But I’m missing the Cadence. The only way to sync the cadence is to use Suunto link and sync to Movescount web or a third party app like syncmytracks and rungap (not recommended) to sync to a sport service that support cadence. Or use Movescount app instead and add Sportstracker as a other sport service. But I just want to use one good app.

It seames that Sportstracker don’t support the Cadence. I don’t know how depending Suunto as to Sportstracker. But when the Cadence is syncing I don’t need any other sports services.

Unless there will be other functionality in Movescount web that will only we there.

So the main question. Will Suunto app replace everything with Movescount in the future or just the statistics and also Cadence?

Not that what today is pulic. Sports-tracker.com website ist a joke compared to movescount.com. Suunto App far away from dooing good job…

Have you tested the new web ?

I bet the answer in these is no…

I have tested Sports Tracker and it is useless for me. At the moment, everything is not a problem. The problem is when Movescount is switched off. A good app is important, but it does not replace a website for me.

@Kurt68 correct. For you info suunto is not using sport tracker 100%. In short it has the same user base but not all your data is there. Think about it as a side effect that you can see your moves in sports tracker.
Sportracker does not even support all the data that suunto watches support.

Thx also for this information. My issue at the moment is, that what I see in public from the ST-Website and Suunto App is a massive decrease of functionality compared to Movescount App and Web.
I hope that Suunto doesn’t switch off old systems before the new tools are at a adequite state.

Since Suunto doesn’t communicate any stategy or plans how this goes ahead speculations and also the worries about loosing usful functionality will continue.

For me the currect state has also a massive impact on the point that I do not invest in new hardware…

@WEM_t Suunto won’t communicate it to public as its not a timed decision.

I don’t think movescount will be stopped if we are stuck with the current status of the apps. No way.

It’s been six months. My Suunto app isn’t recoding cadence. Is there a timeline to fix this? Can I take data off my watch without using a Suunto software service that I didn’t sign up for and do not want?

Ambit 3 Vertical with what I assume is the latest firmware (Moveslink2 does not indicate an update is needed)

I had deleted the Movescount app from the phone, and restarted the phone before pairing the watch to the app and attempting the Bluetooth sync between the two. I had also set the Suunto app to sync to Strava.

I noticed cadence was missing after the sync to Strava, so I synced via USB and the Moveslink2 desktop app to Movescount, which did capture the cadence data (and temperature, which was also missing from the Suunto app sync).

I then had to delete my existing Strava activity, export a GPX from Movescount, and re-upload that to Strava.

@Cosmo-Catalano OK. Don’t know how much is implemented with Ambits yet. The Spartans and S9 cadence are working. The beta would likely be faster if you are interested.

I don’t see much point in changing from something that does work to something that probably doesn’t.

In fact, I’d love to just pull my data directly off of my device without having to go through the Suunto app or Movescount or sports-tracker any other service that I didn’t sign up for. If continued upkeep of Movescount is a pain point for Suunto as well, it seems just taking that step out of the process entirely would be a mutually beneficial solution.

Anyway, is there a matrix of upcoming release fixes so I can know ahead of time when this is planned to be addressed? Or should I just keep periodically searching the Suunto iOS Release notes for strings like “cadence”, “ambit” and “temperature”?

Also, can I file the lack of cadence and temp data specifically as a bug somewhere?

@Brad_Olwin Not really. It’s working on iOS, but sadly, not in Android
