Maps Partial Update Rollout, August 2024 [Limited Countries]

@maszop sure in your fantasy world
I’m out
-
@maszop genuine question, you say the maps are far behind. Compared to what? I mean I use maps when I run alone in unknown locations but never had a problem find trail paths (Romania and Germany).
-
@sorinus and they are super responsive when I rotate the watch!
-
@Likarnik Well, Suunto apparently employs more developers for graphic gadgets than those who could deal with maps, navigation and other more important matters. Which is clearly visible with each update and the number of problems.
-
@sorinus What is this thread about? Missing contour lines, no map updates.
In addition, there is the way navigation messages are displayed that has not been fixed for many years. There is still no better use of the map screen, now there is only the distance to the end of the route. There is still no good management of Waypoints during activities and much more. -

@GiPFELKiND why would you think that the watch face designers and map creators are the same people?
DID i think that? I only sayed that the priority from Suunto is very strange… No Word about the “same” people
-
@Egika wow if that is the only use for your Maps… You dont need a adventure watch for this

To quote yourself: “DID I write that?”

@pavel-samokha I’m stealing this immediately LOLOL
-
@maszop I find the waypoint management very good, and the distance on the map is to the next waypoint and shows what that waypoint is. Not necessarily to the end.
My Vertical guided me 2500km across ten countries this year, I thought the maps and waypoints were excellent
-
@Audaxjoe Well, for me it is very unfortunate that SV still doesn’t allow you to see the name of the next waypoint whenever you want. It only appears in two pop-ups—after reaching the previous waypoint and 100 meters before the actual one. My old S9 displayed the waypoint name at the top of the navigation options menu at all times (together with ETE etc), which I found really useful.
-
@inkognito yes I have to agree that names of waypoints would help.
I love the fact the map now shows an icon of what the next waypoint is. So I know if it is a cafe, control etc. But the name would be good.
