Lol I know I’m late to the party. I’m trying to use the Stryd app but for some reason the watch isn’t connecting to the footpod in the app on the watch. The Stryd is connected to the watch and works as normal from the pre-run screen, just not connecting in the stryd watch app. After “searching” for stryd it eventually says “cannot find device” even though its already connected in watch settings. Any advice on how to get it connected? I was also wondering if the stryd needed to be completely disconnected from the watch first and only connected when you open the stryd app in the watch? Thanks!

@TyreseJ4 I believe the two connections are mutually exclusive

@isazi So it doesn’t matter If it’s already connected to the watch in the settings? Like I said it works fine with the watch. It’s just not connecting to the app. BTW I’m using Stryd Wind. All of the images show the new Next Gen Version. Maybe the Wind is obsolete in this regard?

@TyreseJ4 sorry, I meant that you should not connect the old way if you want to use the S+ app. So try to unpair, or just disable the sensor in the pre-activity screen, and try the app again

@isazi One more question…does the Stryd app also record pace and distance indoors and outdoors?

I use stryd with my SR, I do it through suuntoPLUS and not via footpad.

sometimes you just have to turn stryd app on and off before it works.

I allways check paramters are recording in the stryd page doing warmup 😉

@TyreseJ4 using Stryd via S+ app is not the same as using Stryd as food pod, so answer is no.

Check out my initial feedback on Stryd S+ app.

I don’t use Stryd S+, IMO it just limits STRYD benefits on Suunto watches.

@isazi said in Suunto Plus Stryd App:

@TyreseJ4 sorry, I meant that you should not connect the old way if you want to use the S+ app. So try to unpair, or just disable the sensor in the pre-activity screen, and try the app again

OMG, I know this thread is rather old but I had always thought that the Suuntoplus Stryd app did not work for me because the Stryd sensors never connected. It had not occurred to me that completely unpairing the Sensor would solve the problem. Any downsides to not pairing it as a footpod like in the old days? Does the Suunto watch and app (outside the Suunto+ Stryd app) see the power measured by the Stryd nonetheless?
EDIT: It appears the answer is no, all the other Suunto screens display and use wrist-calculated power (see https://forum.suunto.com/post/139268). I need to do some testing if that is still the case.
