Suunto 9 Baro - weird elevation
-
Hello, on all my activities, the elevation is wrong :
It always starts with a high altitude, then then elevation is lower and it seems normal at the end of the activity. We can see here on this activity on a track :
Elevation is wrong, it should be 0 :
Normally, the correct altitude is 500m
I tried to clean the baro on the watch, I often tried to calibrate, I always have the same issue.
If anyone knows how to fix this ?
thanks !

Are you wearing the watch long time before such activities or you just take it for running?
My idea : if you are just wearing the watch for activity, your body temperature will increase the watch, and thus the baro sensor, temperature, and if your sensor is dirty or… faulty, then higher temperature may give lower altitude.
Lots of if, but…

@Rémi-Perrin-0 from my experience with a Suunto Race, as soon as I wear the watch altitude starts decreasing slowly due to the watch getting warmer on my wrist. In your case could be also as your body temperature is increasing. And the first spike could be that as soon as you started running, the wind cooled it off a little but then this became a constant.

@Mff73 Hi, I wear my watch all day.

I think @Mff73 could be right. And if you just put your watch on your wrist and start running immediately, I would suggest to let the GPS find more satellites and adjust baro to the current conditions. Put the watch on your wrist, go to the activity start screen and give it like 5 minutes before you really start activity. This could minimize altitude changes during the run. -

You might have a faulty sensor which is now changing altitude while JUST temperature is changing (which should not).
I had this long time ago with SSU, long time searching, cleaning sensor, and a watch exchange fixed this.
If you have time to read, here was my storyhttps://forum.suunto.com/topic/1003/watch-ssu-altitude-changes-with-temperature
In your case I think both above explanations are linked, temperature lowered when beginning your activity with fresh air on watch (=altitude up) then body warming and altitude down.
