Do you think it’s worth trying to reset both the app and the watch? I don’t think the activities will be deleted (I mean, those remain linked to the account, so even if I reset the watch I should find them again)…

I did a complete reset, I got a system message about battery optimization and leaving the app always active in the background: I allowed the authorization, but anyway when I exit the app to use the phone and then reopen it, instead of having the default screen (which I imagine could be the “home”), I always get the connection settings one that again suggests “exclude the app from battery optimization”. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore…

Is the battery set as below?

I’ve Android 16 and I guess you too.

Now I’m starting to understand the reason for this problem: the two items under “allow background use” are not there for me…😕

even though I enabled everything, it still tells me “action required”

@ShinJCD Could you set the permissions as shown below and let me know if the battery-related warning “action required” disappears? Screenshot_20250619-153036.png

ehm… never mind… the problem is that even if I enable background use “without limitations”, after a while the system switches back to “optimized”. In my opinion, this is the real problem.

@ShinJCD have you Battery Adaptive switch enabled?

I also tried disabling adaptive charging and “use adaptive battery” but nothing doing… I give up for now 😧

anyway nothing to do: at a certain point I thought I had solved it by deselecting this option
                          1000060906.png

but in vain because after a while the “allow background use” option automatically switches from “without limitations” to “optimized”. I tried to disable any battery optimization (adaptive battery, optimized charging, etc.) but the result does not change… Now at least to avoid having the notification permanently present in the drop-down menu, I disabled the “watch connection” item in the “notifications” settings of the Suunto app. That said, I am really disappointed, both for this thing and for others, one above all the lack - incomprehensible - of the test for the anaerobic threshold. I am not saying that I bought the Run only for this (mistakenly thinking that it was present), but at this point, between the inadequacy of the app and the shortcomings of the watch, I do not find any differences compared to a smartwatch like the Huawei Fit 3 which, at least, has a very well-made app and an operating system clean and responsive.

Hi @ShinJCD I took some time last night to dig a little more and confirmed what you see, which is that the battery status goes from unlimited to optimized after a while (and that triggers the warning). I honestly never noticed if the battery status changed. That said, I continue to have no synchronization issues even with battery optimization. This is probably something that the devs need to look into. Can someone please forward this weird behaviour to them? Thanks.

I see, but all in all I don’t see anything that prevents me from enjoying the watch. Bugs are bugs and sooner or later they get fixed. As for the lack of features, I always buy things for what they have on day one to avoid disappointments, and Suunto always puts a few gifts in the bag sooner or later anyway 😊

I just saw that the anaerobic threshold is calculated automatically based on training and obviously, anthropometric data and it is in the “progress” widget. It’s not exactly what I thought, but better than nothing.
Also Suunto support answered me and they told me that they are working on other things, including the store for the watch faces. Let’s not despair 🙂

Thanks for your availability, for now as I said, I have disabled the notification regarding the synchronization issue, waiting for a future update that can solve the problem. I also thought about doing a reset of my pixel, but honestly it would be too much of a hassle…
