Alpine skiing downhill
-
correct. We had a similar issue with downhill MTB.
I am not sure if it is the same underlying issue.
There will be a Q4 FW release - just not sure if it arrives in December or early January because of the holidays. -
I had this problem before (the first few alpine skiing days). I did power off/power on routine and it started working. I had 3 sessions this week (one full-ish day (5 h, 8000+ m vertical) and a couple short days (2-3 h)) and the problem has not reoccurred. The watch reports runs correctly (while in activity) and the SA reports the number of runs correctly. I didn’t touch the watch since the power off/on last week.
Btw. (And this is a completely different matter), the watch does not sync after a few sessions. I need to force stop the SA and then it works for a few days. -
Was back on the slopes today and it didn’t show me anything again. It is also annoying that the distance is then not displayed for the descents, but the one with lift
-
@Kaiphi Try resetting the watch. I have a Race 2, so it is a different watch, but powering it off an on works.
-
@MdzOtt Thanks for the tip. Is the first thing I do when something doesn’t work
But it didn’t help -
@Kaiphi the watch needa to be restarted before every alpine ski activity. It worked on my Vertical.
-
@nseslija Not necessarily before each activity. I had
four activities since i powered off and on, and all of them worked. I had a XC skiing between those and a bunch of indoor activities, as well. We’ll see how many I have to do before the the app croaks up. Recently, i check mid-day and after completing an activity to see if the app works, as i plan to send the logs, if it doesn’t. But so far, so good.three -
Is this issue only with alpine skiing activity as I have done several xc ski activities and cycling activities and so far I have not rebooted watch ever.
-
@Turo-Jantunen I have the same with snowboarding and Race S. Will try to reboot the watches tomorrow…
-
@Turo-Jantunen I did not notice any issues with cycling or XC skiing. Though, I have the watch for just under two months and did not manage to do much biking in November and December.
-
@MdzOtt i need to reboot before every alpine skiing activity. No issues with other sport modes that I use.
-
True, reboot solves the issue. Keep in mind if you stop an activity for lunch break!
-
Not sure if still necessary.
But I also need to reboot my Race 2 everytime before skiing. Otherwise Runs are not counted.@Egika Sent the logs this morning and you a PN with the Details.
-
I had this problem, but could not re-create it since Dec 15. I had six alpine skiing activities since, three or four XC skiing, a bunch (almost every day) indoor exercises, and a walk.
At the end of every alpine skiing I check for the problem (to send the logs, potentially), but it did not happen again. -
Hi. Same problem here with my brand new Race S.
Dunno if some previous software versions used to work since I had a Garmin before.
Really annoying, the watch is of no use for my ski week.
-
@ChanOJ Have you tried restart before starting activity, by holding upper button for 12 seconds?
-
Hi,
Have the same problem with my Race. Any chance there is a update that will repair this? It’s a bit annoying to restart the watch every time before the skiing…Thank!
-
Update:
I’ve been snowboarding, when I restarted the watch, all went well. Then I started a new activity and the problem occurred again. Guess I have to restart every time before activity… -
Same problem for my Race 2. I did restart the watch and it works … for the moment.
Waiting for a firmware update.
-
I had the problem again (first time in two weeks). It is possible that occurred because I had two alpine skiing activities consecutively (one of those by mistake, but it does not matter).
@Egika I sent the logs to Suunto from the SA. Please let me know what I need to do for you to be able to see (find) them.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to send them right away (about 1.5 h after the end of the activity), but I hope that the problem is included.
