@Egika each model has always better OHR advetised. But i bought Race 2, comming from S5 i expected it would be perfect, but it is just average. It works fine now but i had multiple times when it behaves wrong on Race 2. So i don’t have expectation that this time it will make a big difference.

@2b2bff yes but i read great reviews for OHR on Race 2 before too. But when i bought it, i had mixed filings. Sometimes it was much better than my previouse S5. Sometimes it had just different issues. Instead too high (as i had on S5) it showed too low value on Race 2. But it got better over time. I think updates helped and i don’t pay so much attention to it too. Overal i am happy with Race 2 purchase. It would like better OHR but it is usable. So i am happy.

              OHR still is highly personal.
For me I always had bad HR readings when riding a bike. Vertical 2 TI was the first time I had proper readings even in this situation.
A big factor next to sensor and algorithm for me also is watch weight.
So Run 2 is in a very good position with low weight, most recent sensor and latest algorithm.

Where can I find a list of the activities that Run 2 supports? Can’t find anything on the the web site:

@Svenning How are you liking your Run 2? I switched from the Race 2 because I only really do road running and wanted a lighter watch.

@strain I also switched from the Race 2 because I wanted music and a lighter watch. Now that offline maps are available, I’ve gotten so used to them that I didn’t want to miss out on that feature either.
Overall, I think the RUN 2 is great. The only drawback is the battery life—it drops to around 20% after just 5 days.
Still, I’m definitely keeping it. The lighter weight on my wrist has become much more important to me now. The only thing I really miss are one or two extra data screens while running.

Swiss tester nakan as worked for month to bring a precise method to mesure gps accuracy of watches. Run 2 first tests are far above he could have expected ! Interesting to watch (several links to his videos on is website or channel ; I don’t put them here but you can easily find them if interested)

@Svenning do you know if there is any way to export the current battery charge or even better the history from the watch? when synching with the phone, the info is there, so it can be extracted via bluetooth

@kurtpenter Honestly, no idea if Suunto even provides the battery status in the exported data or API. There’s definitely no way to get it through the standard settings on the watch or in the app.

Since I’m not a developer, I just log all the data manually into the sheet ;o)

A few small tests from my end:
Optical HR (wrist) vs. Polar H10 chest strap comparison:
The top three charts show runs recorded with the Suunto Run 2 using only the optical wrist sensor (no chest strap). As you can see, the heart rate readings are very noisy, show erratic spikes, and run unrealistically high compared to the actual effort/pace.
The bottom chart shows a run paired with the Polar H10 chest strap: the HR line is smooth, consistent, and accurate without any random spikes.
Note: I wear the watch quite snug during workouts, my arm is shaved, and I have no tattoos on my wrist.
It’s just highly individual—optical measurement doesn’t really work for me.

                                  Average pace for each run:
                                  1st run (top): 5:32 /km
                                  2nd run: 4:55 /km
                                  3rd run: 4:56 /km
                                  4th run (bottom, with Polar H10): 5:04 /km

@Svenning if you want to give it a try. It is vibe coded, it works for me on Chrome/Mac with my Suunto Vertical 1 but I do not guarantee it will work for you. You need to download locally and open in Chrome and allow bluetooth. Handle with care.

@kurtpenter Cool, great, I ran a quick test on my SRS (Chrome/Android) and it worked. However, I need to look further into the import , it won’t let me select the CSV file (perhaps it’s related to the “accept” attribute?).
