Unable to deploy to watch
-
Hi all,
I’ve just discovered that I can develop SuuntoPlus apps and it’s great news, as I’ve wanted to connect a bluetooth BLE variometer for info in paragliding.
However, I’m struggling to deploy to test to my 9PP watch. I’ve deleted sync with phone from the watch and reproduced every step in any kind of instructions I’ve been able to find online, I manage to connect it to my pc running Windows 10 via Window’s bluetooth settings but I’m not able to make Visual Studio and SuuntoPlus Editor to recognize my watch, it’s just not detected even it’s connected via bluetooth. I suspect it may be Windows not giving visibility of BT devices to Visual Studio, but cannot find any setting or config related, and this is just a hunch and may be another issue. Has anyone been able to connect a 9PP in Windows 10 and make a deployment to watch?

@Garibaldis I’m not sure but I think that I’ve read somewhere it doesn’t work with Windows 10?

@Łukasz-Szmigiel Thanks for the info! Do you know where did you read that? According to the quickstart guide it should be supported but maybe is a typo

@Garibaldis I was using SuuntoPlus Editor in Windows 10 a couple of months ago, not with S9PP though. But I think it should work. You could run “SuuntoPlus: Open Log Files” in VS Code, the log file might contain some clues.

@Raimo-Järvi I reviewed the log files and, although I’m not really sure what the full process should look like in logs, no warning nor errors are raised and it seems SDS runs properly and it is just not detecting anything. Anyway, thanks for the tip and for confirmation that you were able to run SuuntoPlus Editor and watch deployment in Win10, it’s a clue that encourages me to keep digging!

Finally, I made it work by pairing to Window’s Bluetooth settings while having Visual Studio running. It didn’t work, but the fifth time I re-paired it finally worked!
Thanks @łukasz-szmigiel and @raimo-järvi for your time!

@Garibaldis glad you’ve found the issue! Happy cooking
