Just saw a Review from Daily Nerd Alert on YouTube. His measured battery lifetime is frightening:
        1000047315.jpg

He says: the more sun, the less battery. Seem logical, but these numbers are horrible! I got about 20h from my RaceS with AOD and navigation. Maybe a downside of the brighter display…

Edit: Just checked out his Review of the RaceS: 18-20h with navigation, 28-29h without

@VoiGAS does Suunto just send these offers out randomly?

          Other Brands:
          Fenix 8 Pro

            @VoiGAS

With my activity level, I have to charge my race s every 4 days isch.

I run 4 times a week, 2 interval trainings at my club, a shorter run and a longer run. Plus 3 times a week cycling to work (about 2 times 30 minutes a day)

I don’t use AOD, have a stryd and polar oh1+ connected during runs. For longer runs or trails I use navigation. For my commutes I just use the wrist based sensor (although that is wrong about half of the time). Default gnns settings. I wish I could turn down the gnns settings, but stupid enough you have to do that prior to every activity. I really have no need for dual frequency gnss.
And in daily watch mode, I disabled as much nonsense as possible, like blood saturation and sleep. Do use notifications on my watch.

4 days is slightly better than the forerunner 965 I previously had and way, way worse than the forerunner 935 I had before that.

The forerunner 935 is still, with distance, the best watch I ever had. Unfortunately, garmin broke the battery life with an update and years of use did the rest.

Oh, and the 4 days of my race s, is when there is no unexpected battery drain. Which it sometimes has.

For an oled watch, it’s not bad, in my (limited) experience with oled watches.

@elbee Thank you for that breakdown. That is super useful. Estimates are that and it seems that a lot of them rely on people not using the watch when they calculate the days numbers.

@strain No idea, maybe they do. First time for me 😀. But I guess its random, I heard from other people in the forum about similar offers they received

@elbee I also think the RaceS battery lifetime is quite good. Thats why I am shocked by the results this reviewer got. The Race3S should be better than the RaceS - not worse. Maybe a defective unit or something…

@VoiGAS I tested the Race 3S and without AoD I can get to 38 hours or more of estimated battery life, tested in real long activities

What do you mean with estimated battery life?

Is that the number that is shown when you start an activity or did you do an activity until your watch died and that was 38 hours later?

(the first one is a guess by the watch, the second one is a real measurement)

@elbee I used math and the battery data that is saved in the activity itself to estimate the battery life of the watch from 100 to 0
