@Yannis-Belouris why do you say that?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Regardless if I feel that a large portion of users do not care if there is a web interface or not, as long as they have strava sync, we can agree that this is a -planned- regression of functionality. We could be proven wrong.
This will make the annual upgrade decision much more difficult than it should have.
Between the unfinished Android app, the planned non-existence of a web interface, the ridiculous (sorry, but it is), situation with suunto HR belts, the minimal upgrade that S9 was in relation to SSU, the WHR issues (locked in cadence for the first x minutes, etc) things are not very rosy.
And, and I mean this, it pains me that I seem to come across as ungrateful for all the hard hard work that the IT people are investing. I very much admire their hard work, and would buy any one of them a beer if I ever meet one.Working in a similar environment, I can relate to working hard towards a non ideal target.
The difference between:
Effectiveness - doing “the right” things
Efficiency - doing things in the most economical way
It is the business people that are steering things into uncharted territory. Maybe they have better vision than me.
Long rant over. Let;'s keep our hopes up. Also, when is the new FW out ? --Just kidding.
Efficacy - getting things done -
@Yannis-Belouris agree. I love mcweb, but if Suunto tell me you prefer features on SA or keep this in actual point? First option. The problem is Very slow implementation in SA.
-
@Yannis-Belouris I asked about
For us, it seems we are fighting an unprovoked, pointless and unnecessary war.
-
Ambit, Ambit2, M-series, T-series and Quest Collection watches
These Suunto products will not be compatible with Suunto app due to no mobile connectivity (Bluetooth).Is it not possible to allow connectivity between older devices and the suunto app via Suunto link?
I still have to use Suunto link to upgrade my Suunto 9 so if it is still going to be part of the suunto ecosystem, why not use it as a gateway for older devices? -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
I would must rather be fighting for FW features and/or how to integrate some of the analysis tools that are available online into the platform rather than begging to keep existing functionality alive. -

We could be proven wrong.Don’t be confused: Strava is a social network, not a workout analysis solution (even if you’re a “summit user” and pay for it). MC is 2 or 3 light years ago from Strava.
-
@ColdBeer Was not talking about me. Don’t care for strava one bit. But some of my friends are asking me if their activity has been uploaded to strava first and then worry about intervals etc.
-
@Yannis-Belouris I am kinda confused. There is that announcement that MC will go off.
What stops you to “fight” for new features especially this time for the new platform, along with the affected users ( I am assuming that perhaps you where not due to your involvement with the forum/Sa app dont get me wrong) -

Its not a social network for me. I do well use it’s features. I can see mostly the same stuff with MC (for me ) and some things are even better like the relative effort.
I dont want to compare the platforms but just to say Strava is social only it’s not true.
-
@Yannis-Belouris Sure! And, as you know, all that people start for a few weeks worrying about Strava and after that, start to worrying about their workouts… It’s obvious. Anyway, after 2 years of training, I’m still worrying about Strava uploads, as my friends (and my wife) still check if I’m doing the right things there. It’s funny, but just stop here.
-
@Luís-Pinto I am not in love with MC.
My biggest worry is that the eventual successor, be it app only or app+web, will be missing features.
It creates uncertainty. Maybe everything will be there, but most probably not.
Much like how spartans are still missing features like apps, structured intervals etc compared to Ambits. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos It’s the same for me. I’m used to “train” on the same routes planned both in SA than Strava and use the Strava platform to compare my sectors to other user’s sectors, as a sort of test. I Think that I can improve myself watching only my achievements time after time, but I improve better if I also compare that results with other friends or atlethes on the same route
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I were using Strava Summit for 60 days (free option after syncing with SA), and I must say it’s not valid in the way I use it. And as far as I know how some real athletes and trainers I know they analyze their trainings, I could say it’s not useful for most of them.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
Paid versions of Strava, TP, etc could be serious tools.
Paid being the important word here.
Non paid versions are very dumped down.
This situation makes us feel poorer.
The rich kids (F@rmin) get a proper sets of tools and we have to beg, steal or pay for the same thing. -
@ColdBeer @Yannis-Belouris haven’t we iterated over this discussion quite a lot? I have heard quite the same here. My intention for commenting was at least to understand why the non-provoked fight.
To debate if another service is useless to you , paid or not, I would not like todo that IN THIS THREAD.
Again if you do feel that you have a fight to win, as Spartan users, please give space to the people that have a bigger one, such as A2, and the non BT devices.
To my eyes the biggest problem here are these users mainly and I would love to get the feedback, not debate again about Strava features paid and TP.

Wish Sunnto would work on bugs etc. My Spartan Ultra Titanium keeps ‘‘locking up’’ I have to reset it. I thought it was only when connected to my laptop, but it isn’t. fed up with it now, and I’m not the only one who has this problem.
If Movescount goes, or when it goes. So will I!!! Are you there Suunto!!!
It’s my 3rd Suunto watch, but sadly it will be my last. Luckily, we have competition
If they made Movescount the best, people would move to Suunto. clearly moves do NOT count
I haven’t bothered looking at the compaction yet but what would you guys recommend? I need a web based programme, I have a smart phone but I don’t really like using it for sport.
I also use a Stryd and would like a power meter for my road bike.
Cheers S

A solution for older watches like Ambit2 without bluetooth connectivity is a must. No further arguments required, everything’s already mentioned.
Very bad decision! -
You are unnecessarily jumpy.
This is a fight. A fight to keep functionality on the same level as today both for all. Ambits 1,2,3 and the rest.
Everybody is losing something and I empathize with everyone’s pain regarding this digital plans. -
@Yannis-Belouris all thinking are welcome. Suunto can bring structured Very quickly if they want… Stryd team is limited and this week they bring structured for AW as beta!
