Is Suunto App in testing phase? Why is it deployed to all users then?
-
Hi,
I’m getting confused now and don’t know which app should I use in order not to lose any data on the way of transition.
Just a tip for Suunto - you should share with us a transition plan with all steps and milestones to achieve. For now I don’t know if I can still use Movescount (which is stable and working) or should I switch already. Confusion - this is the word describing how your approach to new product development impacts your customers. Guys. Please create the working product and then release so I can switch from one to another in few minutes without thinking what should i do and what is going on here. It doesn’t look professional at all. Just a bunch of amateurs experimenting on customers (paying customers!).
For now I’m removing Suunto App from my mobile phone. Either you’ll be able to deliver decent final app and i’ll stay or I’ll move to competitors otherwise.

I don’t know why anyone is switching to Suunto App. I can go over the app and count at least 10 bugs in multiple areas. Movescount works just fine and I’ll stick to it for as long as possible, and then when it is no longer available I’ll reassess whether to stay with Suunto or switch to another brand.
And in general the app is optimized for a typical fitness user rather than a serious athlete. It might make a sense for users who bought Suunto 3 but I just don’t see how this app would make sense to any Suunto 9 or Ambit3 owner that I know personally. Why do I need to know that my last run was 1 mile longer than the previous one. Who cares? My run distance varies on purpose each week. Why does it tell me that my average HR was 153 lower than the previous run even though I ran without a HR monitor which Suunto is supposed to know? Why there are no distance or elevation gain goals? Who cares about about calorie or step count goals, especially considering that those calories are based on highly inaccurate optical HR monitor. Why do I need to see these silly stock photos yet it is almost impossible to find in the app a record of a race that I did 3 years ago?

@silentvoyager all valid points, yet as a spartan trainer owner I have no choice but to use this bad piece of software since the watch doesn’t sync well with the other option…

May be I am lucky but my Suunto 9 watch syncs with Movescount app just fine. Zero issues. I use the app only to sync data and analyze everything on Movescount web.

@silentvoyager really? Maybe they will phase out suunto 9 next year…
Just kidding.

@silentvoyager works for me but I do not use the app for analysis. It syncs perfectly to TrainingPeaks. I use the app for routes and custom sport modes. The syncing is fast and reliable.

@Droro I have a spartan trainer, works just fine with movescount.
