My Strava mile splits are very far off my accurate SA mile splits IF I pause the watch (take a break of water or take a picture). My autopause feature is OFF.

For example: If I did a 5 mile run and stopped the watch after mile 4 and pause and sit for 10 minutes, then unpause to continue to mile 5. Strava will add that sitting time onto my mile pace for mile 4. On Strava it says I ran a 17 min/mile pace when in reality my watch and SA says I was running 7 min/mile pace.

This is the first time I’ve seen it happening this week. Prior to getting my Suunto 9 2 months ago, I would pause all the time and never had this issue.

Is there a current fix on this? Is it something I have to do on my end or just wait for a Suunto update?

Currently this is how Strava works in specs. Are working arround this issue.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Yes but is Strava or Suunto currently doing something to fix the issue presented in the thread you linked? This has never happened to me before and it started showing up a week ago. I am wondering if there is a setting on the watch I may have to change.

@Popuhsquat This has started according to the feedback I have collected since 14Feb. IT happens when you pause. We do send a correct FIT file to Strava but somehow strava adds the pause time in splits.
I am aware on the complication for this and I have no direct solution atm.
Patience is my suggestion or perhaps use Autolaps and dont base on the autogenerated splits of strava.

PS. Splits are, well splits, and in all means imo should contain pauses as segments do to be fair. The confusion here is: 1-> The change that happened , 2-> that people think splits are laps. They are not .

But I have collected feedback that this confuses people and we are working to make an exception for Strava.

In technical terms we dont send any split information to strava. We send all the correct data 1:1 so yeah, its strange

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos ahh good to know. I thought it was something wrong exclusively on my end. Good to know Suunto is aware and getting on it. Thanks!

@Popuhsquat yeah its very Strange. If you are familiar with FIT data (I mean its just like GPX nothing big) I can dump here some examples and show that there is nothing strange on our side. The most funny thing is that only strava does this. Other partners on the contrary work well.

That said, again, for now base on autolaps (1km / mile) to get the same info that Splits would provide till we find a solution for this.
