      I have a Suunto Spartan Trainer Wrist HR and have been using SA exclusively for a while now, the Suunto App is working great for me, congrats to suunto dev team for their hard work so far.
      I would like to know if there’s any way to export fit files or other way to import data into goldencheetah? I don’t want to go the SA+movescount route as movescount is going away. Any suggestions other than movescount? Can I expect this functionality to appear sometime in the future natively to SA?

      Thanks,

        @mmeld SA has now a public API, so GoldenCheetah developers could program their own SA importer easily. Ask them, please

          /…/ any way /…/

          You could link SA to Training Peaks or Strava and get fit files from there.

          Toyed around with this a bit and there’s actually potential for a simple jet effective bookmarklet / userscript / browser addon.

          @suzzlo , GoldenCheetah is not a service, it’s a stand alone open source application running locally. Meaning that it’s quite unlikely to get API access as API key would be shared with pretty much everyone. Alternative would be API access for individuals, but currently Suunto does not seem to be too thrilled about this idea.

            @margusl 🤔 🤔 🤔

            Since GoldenCheetah is not a service, how could SA push each workout update?
            The only way is that each local installation (using user token) login a get user workout using public API

              Maybe I misunderstood the original question ( or just ignored the title … ), but I don’t believe it was specifically about API access or linking GC to SA, it’s more about having “Export Fit” links somewhere in this ecosystem.

                Great, thanks for the suggestion. I will use a script to do the export for now.

                  @mmeld if you create a script to import SA -> GC, perhaps you could share here with SA community 🙏 🙏 🙏

                    They currently achieve this by only putting in API keys (for eg, trainingpeaks) for the production builds available for download on their website, the keys aren’t hosted in their public repository. But I think you are right, downloading via TP/Strava is the easiest option for now.

                    I’m afraid my previous statement was made from a position of ignorance. Upon further reading, I encountered:

                    Restrictions
                    The API will be provided to companies, organisations who are providing tools / apps / services for public audience. We currently don’t offer the API access for personal use. We are reviewing the applicants based on for example the fit to our brand, interest from our customers and illustration of the innovation mindset We do not charge from the use of the API.

                    So that’s a no-go.

                      Try to ask for API keys… perhaps will work if you explain that you want to create a GoldenCheetah importer…
