Somewhere I have seen the map which shows other members who have run in the same area. I cannot find this feature again. You could click on the little dots on the map and it shows their entire route and distance and you can follow them if you want, etc.

How do you connect with other member of the nearby community that are using the Suunto App?

You can see “the dots”, when you open the route planning / overview map in the Suunto App. Zoom in, wait until the dots appear, tap on the dot, tap on the user name give in the details on top of the page, tap on follow - and wait for acceptance.

@Shrek3k thanks! I also just realized/discovered that the difference also seems to lie in the platform being used.

The map seems to have way more function on the Android platform. The map is called “Explore”, and makes it easy to see who else is running in the community.

The map on the iOS app does not seem to have this. It is just map with satellite/terrain settings, and the various heat map view. Route building is available as well. From what I can see, it does not have any function that shows other members of the Suunto community who have run in similar areas. It’s completely different and way less developed than the Android version of the map.

Has anyone had success finding the “dots” showing other runners on the iOS version of the app?

Strange development — now the feature seems to also be gone from the android version.

I’m sad it is gone!! I sure hope it comes back in some form, at least as an option that you can toggle on and off on the map! Where’d it go???

Now there is no way (that I can see) to find other Suunto app users on the map on either android or iPhone, unless you know their name and specifically search for them— similar to Runkeeper.

Let me know if I’m missing something!
