May Transition Update
-
Hi, I just noted that Suunto has transferred all my moves from movescount to SA, without me doing anything. fair enough…
As an happy AMBIT2 user: I have the following questions:- Will my moves done after this dump be synced with the app? automaticall?
- Since last week, I can not upload gpx files to movescount. (I think the website was down for maintenance earlier this week) . is this functionallity gone? then please share how I can put new routes on my Ambit2. I can upload new ones in SA, but it doesn’t seem to sync with MC.
thanks for your help,

Only if you sync with Suuntolink instead of Moveslink2 - https://www.suunto.com/et-ee/Support/software-support/suuntolink/ Just note that Suuntolink does not send your activities to Movescount, only to Suunto App.
One exception to this is having SportStracker connection enabled in Movescount.Since last week, I can not upload gpx files to movescount. With Chrome? Not sure why it started popping up just recently -

Nice to hear that there will be a solution for as owner of an Ambit1 (old but perfect for ErgoTraining in Winter) and an Ambit2 for my Outdoor Training.
I’m looking forward for this solution in (near or most likely far) future. What I see today ist that you have removed the Monthly Summary from Movescount as it comes to Sum Accent, Sum Kilometer for MTB/Cycle/Hiking/aso, aso…
Thats not funny at all.
Please could you tell me where I can see these Data - I need it desperately for my next meeting with my cardiologist. -

Dear @Christian-Kernbeis if you have questions that are directed at Suunto, please try also to contact Suunto directly, as an example through support. Here we are (almost) all users just like you, and cannot provide such answers.

Ok, Import is done (I havent checked all 771 moves but I hope its OK), whats left is how to print the monthly report for my doctors.

What I’m missing is a core function of Movescount on WindowsBrowser:
It was possible to set target heartrate zones and the track was colored according to my heartrate in within these zones. (I hope the explanation is clear)
So it was clear to see where (on which part of the track) I had exeeded my capabilitys and where I should go faster.I dont see this function on my Tablett in Suunto App.
As this is a feature with high value I’m pretty shure that its somewhere in the APPThanks for your help

”It was possible to set target heartrate zones and the track was colored according to my heartrate in within these zones. (I hope the explanation is clear)“
Yes, your explanation is clear – that coloured track was a useful feature. Unfortunately, it’s also clearly not in the Suunto app. And, as you know, it’s disappeared out of Movescount… so that’s progress for you, I guess.
But hope is not lost! I suggest you take a look at Quantified Self, created by Dimitrios (community manager for this very forum: big discussion here). Although there’s no coloured track there either, it’s got more charts and graphs than you can shake a stick at. Also, if you ask nicely, he is very responsive and accommodating to us users needs. Maybe you will find what you’re after there.
Happy hunting.

Dear Suunto Community,
We are happy to share the latest news on our digital service transition. This is the third update of 2019, here you can find the details of our January and April update.
bla bla bla !
and more than 12 months later………
………
…………
………………………nothing………………. = value of Suunto products to me, my awesome Ambit 2s lies in the drawer and is useless now, unable to connect to the online platforms I need for fitness tracking.
I moved to Samsung Galaxy Watch, thoroughly happy I exercise for leisure and with Endomondo it does all I need, not 100% accurate but more than good enough for me, the clincher is I can wear it with a suit, use all the notifications, great display, great battery life, Samsung Pay, LTE ability, superior to anything Suunto can offer me.
Suunto should be left to die, simple as that, no commitment to customers, all it needed was to automatically link imports of data from Movescount to Suunto App (and not once off… which is possible, showing a link is not that hard………but every time I upload, automatically, using, like modern computer technology…) and leave users to decide what they want to use where, unliking a product in this day and age is a nice way of asking for euthanasia. I give my informed consent for the procedure

/…/ nothing /…/Latest update is actually from April 28, 2020 . Maybe cancelling those newsletters was part of some greater scheme, I don’t know … But I find it’s worth checking out http://suunto.com/transition in every 3-6 months or so.
(hint: for A1 / A2 owners current situation is more clear and less depressing when comparing to May 2019; you even have a choice to either keep using Movescount & Moveslink2 the same way you always have, unitl something actually changes, or go along with transition today and switch to Suuntolink & Suunto App with your A2)

Just to say … it could be enough to use the search function

For new members and for everyone else who reach this either by google or through links in digital transition newsletter it’s super easy to land here - it’s the top pinned topic in the single(?) category they can access before signing up and it sure looks like it’s also the latest topic here. Something for Mods to think about.

@margusl
SuuntoLink has been updated and now support Ambit 2, 2s, 2R and Ambit.https://www.suunto.com/Support/software-support/suuntolink/
I tested it and the link is now to SUUNTO APP for exercise data, no longer to MOVESCOUNT.
It seems that settings from movescount and moves to movescount still need to go through MOVESLINK.So, I retract, Suunto is no longer best for euthanasia, they have awoken from their anaesthesia
-
Actually settings, poi/routes from MC also go through SL, at least for A3P that I have. So it’s just that moves don’t go to MC anymore through SL.

thank you very much

I was able to import all my moves from Movescount to Suunto (with a lot of duplicates to delete manually) and my Ambit 3 Peak is now synchronized with th Suunto Link (which is far better than movescount). BUT, now why match says “please synchronize your moves” and I see the memory percentage occupied increasing (now 70%). I don’t absolutely get why…and I’m afraid the memory will be saturated soon. Can anyone help ? Thanks !
-
@LudovicTheRunner from what I read your memory will be automatically recycled, i.e. old activities will be deleted when necessary. So I don’t think you need to worry. Please Ambit users correct me if I’m wrong.

So you think it has nothing to do with the transition from MovesLink to Suunto App ?
-
@LudovicTheRunner no it’s that because atm there are 2 services (movescount is still running) it wont mark as synced all the activities on the watch and remove them. That is for now.
You might want to delete the “synced ones” manually, that’s ok, but also the watch will 'recycle" as @isazi said the activities. However, sync can be slower if you are keeping a big log book

ok, thanks. I don’t care to delete them, I just have a lot of activities (210)…I can’t imagine to delete them one by one…
