@Bulkan so in Europe better use Galileo or Glonass?

      Kind regards,

@tomahawk5000 For me It works better in this order GPS > GPS+glonnas >GPS+Galileo.

I’m in Canary Island, but from what I’ve read here in the rest and norther Europe is the same.

@Bulkan I’m surprised GPS without Glonass or Galileo better than with one of them?

          Kind regards,

Got a run in Amsterdam with GPS only, pretty good track indeed, close to the best I had on this route using Galileo, and with less battery consumption. I’ll keep using GPS only until we get Baidou 🙂

For me on my location and my activity, GPS only is the best.

Waiting for firmware update and for testing Beidou @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos 🤓

                      From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) (Chinese: 北斗卫星导航系统; pinyin: Běidǒu Wèixīng Dǎoháng Xìtǒng [pèitòu wêiɕíŋ tàuxǎŋ ɕîtʰʊ̀ŋ]) is a Chinese satellite navigation system. It consists of two separate satellite constellations. The first BeiDou system, officially called the BeiDou Satellite Navigation Experimental System and also known as BeiDou-1, consists of three satellites which since 2000 has offered limited coverage and navigation services, mainly for users in China and neighboring regions. Beidou-1 was decommissioned at the end of 2012.

The second generation of the system, officially called the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and also known as COMPASS or BeiDou-2, became operational in China in December 2011 with a partial constellation of 10 satellites in orbit.[4] Since December 2012, it has been offering services to customers in the Asia-Pacific region.[5]

In 2015, China launched the third generation BeiDou system (BeiDou-3) for global coverage constellation. The first BDS-3 satellite was launched on 30 March 2015.[6] As of October 2018, fifteen BDS-3 satellites have been launched.[7] BeiDou-3 will eventually consist of 35 satellites and is expected to provide global services upon completion in 2020. When fully completed, BeiDou will provide an alternative global navigation satellite system to the United States owned Global Positioning System (GPS),[8][9] the Russian GLONASS or European Galileo systems and is expected to be more accurate than these.[10] It was claimed in 2016 that BeiDou-3 will reach millimeter-level accuracy (with post-processing).[9]

According to China Daily, in 2015, fifteen years after the satellite system was launched, it was generating a turnover of $31.5 billion per annum for major companies such as China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, AutoNavi Holdings Ltd., and China North Industries Group Corp.[11]

On 27 December 2018, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System started providing global services.[12][13] Project Director Ran Chengqi reported that two more satellite launches will complete the 3rd generation and global BeiDou system by June 2020. [14]

                      .
                      .

Milimeter level accuracy? If this is true, than we do not need altimeter anymore for altitude. 🙂

@zvonejan haha true. But the MM accuracy must refer to Hortizontal one. Vertical typically is more affected by trees but this is really a guess.

So far I am having my hand in the pocket, and it has about ~7m max error. I had only once >10m 25m offset.

So far beidou for me has no more than 10m error on average (average max error not average error) so I am very pleased. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that those improvements come out (the bei ones from wiki) and hopefully you will get the FW soon 🙂

FYI it’s imo more than ready and tested 😉

                            Hello everyone
For complete happiness I miss the compass in running mode. The screen with the return trail does not contain the direction in which I run, as on the compass.

And in this he is a prolem. A small triangle.
I have no specific direction in degrees.
After 20 km I can barely see this triangle.
An additional dial with a compass would solve the problem.
